though i cannot quite relate to the jealousy aspect of it, i do understand the bitterness and cynicism very well.
oh, hell, you already knew that.
i should hope that it won't take you long to overcome your feelings.
also, a 2.89 is something to be pretty proud of...if it helps, that's higher than most college student GPAs, to be honest. lots of people are amazed to graduate with a 3.0. still, it's very cool to see that you want to shoot for graduating with honors. i wish you luck!

And the jealousy, for me, pretty much stems from so many failures where I have tried so hard, and put so much into it, only to have it backfire on me. In a sense, I suppose I feel like "damn it, I -deserve- this.", but then I rationalize that if I really did deserve it, I would have it. And content myself with that.

and yes, 2.89 is what would be considered a high GPA in most cases. i'm not sure what your cum. GPA needs to be to make honors, but here it was something like a 3.5. for you guys, i'm sure it's not much different. either way, you can consider yourself closer than most others, especially if you surpass a 3.0 by the end of your next semester.
