I kind of wish I was genuinely talented at something. Like I wish I was a fantastic photographer. Or a great artist. Or...anything. All I have is my writing...and in the end, I know that's not good enough. I'm not a good writer really, I'm just okay. I doubt I could grow up and become a real author, getting a novel published, or anything

Two years ago I thought I couldn't finish a novel, but it turned out that it wasn't finishing novels that I have a problem with, it's finishing novels that don't suck. DX So uh ... I feel your pain. Or something similar, anyway.

One good thing is that the more you write, the better you get, and so even if you can't finish and publish a novel now and have to get a job you don't really like, you'll be able to publish eventually. I mean, look at Tolkien. He was writing the Silmarillion in the trenches, and how old was he before he got The Hobbit published? By which I mean to say: You can do it, it just might take a long, long time.
