So had the operation on Friday, seems silly calling it an operation but given it did end up being a surgical procedure in an operating theatre I can't think of anything better to call it

OK, this post cracked me up....I dont even know if it was supposed to but it did. Glad you got the mole removed, and happy but sorry that you got short-changed on pain. Sometimes the people who are supposed to be helpful (doctors) really just scare the beejesus out of you. I guess he had to give that speech in case their was pain and you wanted to kill him.
Three cheers for being an extra in a movie. Tim Burton is 50 shades of awesome, it will be interesting to see where he takes the Alice in Wonderland story....it has the potential to be quite dark but fantastic.
Yeah I think I prefer being short changed than having pain, I guess I just wanted to milk it a bit!! I should have really acted like it was worse than it is in hindsight! I think that was exactly what the doc was doing as I know they have to let you know about the possibilities and what can go wrong, but sheesh, overkill much. Pain and discomfort would have surficed as I'd got that down as pretty much a given, to me severe pain is feeding your legs into a woodchipper whilst listening to Celine Dion and having acid poured over my chest kind of pain.
Tim Burton on Alice has potential to be awesome, you said it perfectly 'dark and fantastic'. That macarbre edge is what TB does perfectly when he's on form, and the big LSD trip of the story gives such broad artistic licence. I just hope it doesn't turn out like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...
Me too! Wasn't too bad really, after 6 hours of waiting I was pretty numb all over. Being forced to see that much daytime TV does that to a person - maybe it's all part of the plan. It was a bit nervy when I got on the trolley but it's got absolutely nothing compared to standing in a cable car over a ravine and about to do a 440ft bungy into it!!!
