I was home this weekend (not for long, so no yelling at me for not dropping in to see everyone). I had an appointment with a psychiatrist, who's switching me to yet another medication, so I apologize in advance if I bite anyone's head off. ;) SO regionals was Saturday, wo I went to watch Doug get a medal (4th in Road Scholar) and generally cheer ( Read more... )

I do have to warn you that you are right -- maybe one in two or one in three physics grad students will get a permenant job doing research. On the other hand, I'm told that if you have a degree in physics, it can be damn useful in finding a job out in that thing called the real world.

And that sucks that you didn't get in. You seem to have rotten luck with a lot of things. *hugs*

I want to go into astrophysics eventually, so you know what I think about the topic. Go for the physics if that's what you actually like.

Ah, not so rotten luck, really... I mean, if this is the worst thing I've got to worry about, I think I'm pretty well off. :)

Now, where were you three years ago when I decided to go to Ferris instead?! ;P

I'm sorry you didnt get into that school. Hey, if you do go to MSU for astrophysics and what not... and don't have an awesome job from it like the optometrey thing... you can always go back to optometrey again! Plus! It might be an awesome experience of learning and trying a new college!!! Gotta love the fictional jobs. lol. I want to be a necromancer but I can't do that! Or be a witch... I'd LOVE THAT! hehehe. and I could help people with that and be paid for it and all that jazz... hehehe.

I have decided that I'm also in the wrong major and I should have gone into zoology or a veterinary school or SOMETHING to do with animals. I think that is where my real passion lies, and now I'm $20,000 in debt for a bunch of English classes that aren't going to do anything for me.

So I totally know what it's like to have that feeling. I'm sorry you didn't get into the College of Optometry. :( You should go to MSU and then I can go there for zoology and then we can all be happy! Maybe...

Actually I'm graduating a semester early, and that will be with an English and Japanese double-major. After this semester, the English part will be done. So, I might as well finish it. ^_^;
