Name: Dante
Character Name: Luke Triton
Canon: Professor Layton
Housing Change: Same house
Reason for Canon Update: Character development troubles! So I'm going to be canon updating to the end of Professor Layton and the Unwound Future.
Updated Background:
Since Luke was taken from chapter six of the third game, he and the Professor plus Flora, Barton, and Inspector Chelmey had all arrived in future London via the time machine in the clock shop. They do their investigating thing as the Professor, Luke, and Flora go to meet up with the future Luke in Chinatown. During their investigation, Luke runs off without telling the Professor or Flora why, and after finding him he tells the Professor and he and his parents are moving overseas. The Professor, noticing that he was bothered by this fact since this mystery started, successfully cheers up Luke by telling him that they'd always be close friends.
After going through the tower in Chinatown, future Layton reveals himself as Dr. Stahngun, who was the scientist who disappeared in the explosion after the time machine demonstration went awry. He introduces himself as Dimitri Allen and tells the group that he's taken the Prime Minister Bill Hawks as a hostage. Dimitri reveals his true motives for building the time machine in the first place, and attempts to trap Layton, Luke, Flora, and future Luke as well. This plan is ruined by the fact that the Layton he caught was actually Don Paolo in disguise, and the real Layton shows up to help them all escape.
The group then moves on to another one of Dimitri's bases in an attempt to help the kidnapped scientists escape, but are soon discovered by the Family. They escape thanks to Celeste, claiming to be the younger sister of Claire aka Layton's girlfriend who died in a lab explosion many years ago. They go to the Thames Arms to talk with her, and it's revealed that while Dimitri was trying to build a time machine to go back and save Claire from an untimely death, future Luke had alternative motives in mind, revealing himself as Clive Dove, a young man bent on building a massive weapon to destroy London out of revenge, and that the "future" London was actually a fake city built under the real London. After Clive's plan is revealed, he kidnaps Flora and takes her to a giant moving mobile fortress that was hiding underneath the River Thames.
After Clive kidnaps Flora, Layton and Luke go after him and save her and Bill Hawks. They manage to destroy the mobile fortress in time while Clive is arrested, and Celeste (who tells Layton she is the real Claire who actually did travel forward in time after the explosion) has to go back to her own time to face her death. Luke's last adventure with the Professor ends, and he goes overseas with his parents after a tearful goodbye to the Professor. Several months later, Luke sends a letter to the Professor telling him all about a new mystery he's discovered and that it sounds like a mystery made for Professor Layton and his apprentice.
Updated Personality:
By canon updating to the end of the game, Luke seems to matured a lot more by the time he leaves with his parents. It's during the last half of the game where Luke starts showing potential leadership qualities, such as being the first to call out Dimitri on his actions, or being the first to chase after Flora after she was kidnapped by Clive. Even though he's not ready to become completely independent (as pointed out by Flora when she tells Luke that he seems lost without the Professor) and he doesn't want to be separated from the Professor, he's actually forced to become more independent by the end of the game.
