[So after spending several weeks in Cianwood, training and talking to other trainers in the area, Luke has one thing to ask.]
This is going to sound strange but I'm curious.
What's it mean to be "cool"?
What do you have to do to be cool?

So it's going against what's normal? A lot of the things I see here I wouldn't consider normal back home.

And sometimes, yes. Again, it really depends on the person you're speaking to.
The fact that a lot of things aren't exactly 'normal' here means that there is a new 'normal' to adjust to, if you are aiming to go against it.

It all sounds really complicated, I might just stick to puzzles.

It can mean that something physically feels cooler because of lower temperature, you're treating people coldly, or--this is probably the context you were going for--fashionable and impressive.

[Because who is more fashionable and impressive then the Professor really.]

I have to say, it's sort of neat learning about the cultural differences here, even if they are kind of confusing.

Being cool is like
It's kinda hard to say.
Like when someone does something real awesome and you just feel like "Man, that was totally rad!" It's like that I guess. Like, that guy was cool.

How do I know when to say it?

Pretty much when someone does something that's totally amazing and you're like, totally shocked because of how great it was. Like, you'd say it then. I guess there's lot of times when you would say it, though. Like, you just feel it. You know?

If you wanna be cool, you gotta know what people like and are looking for in people who are cool. But the thing is, different people think different things are cool.

Being 'cool' means doing what you believe in without hesitation and not caring about what others think of that. It means adhering to your own style without wavering!
