Anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with the following? The portable A/C I just bought doubles as a dehumidifier. I need to run a hose from the dehumidifier water bucket to some place where it can drain. I know drains are supposed to go 'downhill,' but my options are kind of limited here. My solution to this was a sturdy metal shelf from Home Depot and one of those 19 gallon buckets with the rope handles that they use for kegs. Have someone help you put the air conditioner on the top shelf (you'll only have to move it this one time but MAKE SURE the shelf you buy has a weight limit of more than the air conditioner weighs). Then put the bucket on a lower shelf or even on the floor under it and run a small hose from the drain of the unit into the bucket. I've found that this can last all day/night even in humid as hell western PA. As long as you empty the bucket before it's too heavy, you're fine.

lol I got the bucket and the pipe today--never thought of doing the shelving thing, though! That makes more sense.
