I'm looking for some old school, cool, crisp bed sheets. The kind you used to love sliding into when you snuck into bed with your nana. The weather here is hot and humid, and there is no AC and the fans just aren't cutting it at night anymore ( Read more... )

Look at goodwill, antique stores, maybe eBay, vintage stores. I've found a bunch of sets that way. Unfortunately it's pretty hard to find anything larger than full size because it wasn't very common to have beds larger than that. My Grammy still has quite a few sets!

Have you tried places that cater to hotels/hospitals? Because those sheets are thicker than any other sheet, heavy enough to withstand repeated industrial washing, and (in the case of *high end* hotels) pure cotton.

I want to get some myself. I have only pure cotton sheets now, and they are nice, but they are not that thick and luxurious.

I bought some at Target that totally reminded me of that old school crispy feeling. They are Percale and I bought them from the Threshold.
