A little bit (really, no more than you'd use in the sink) of Dawn dish detergent can sometimes help remove any kind of oily or waxy build up. Use hot water and rinse well. This may work for the shirts and will work for the sheets.

A magic eraser is good for the soles of shoes. I usually end up putting them in the washer in a pillow case to clean them, but I know that's not the greatest plan if you want them to continue to look nice (it doesn't matter to me because the kids outgrow them in 6 months anyhow)

Do you use fabric softener on the shirts? Definitely try a vinegar rinse, and stop using fabric softener. That can cause build-up to form.

Exactly what I was going to say, i would never use fabric softener because of the film that it leaves. Vinegar should work well but OP you may have to wash them more than once to get all the fabric softener build up off them.
