I like how I thought we had to bring in a long poem we wrote ourselves. I even wrote one, but then I forgot to go. I decided I would write a short poem, just because I do stuff like that. Guess I'm just spiteful ;). The poem was:
Trees are the real Children of God.
(even though I don't actually believe in God, you get the point.)
I almost forgot. I wanted to say something. I think that you shouldn't wholly discount the Puritans like you did. THey weren't all hellfire and brimstone types. Many simply believed that beauty was in things as god made them, and in simplicity, sparcity of living style, and in denying the body to enhance the soul. Coincidentally, the Hindu ascetics believed the same thing, and I'll guess that you have great respect for them, or would, if you knew about them (if you don't already). Anyway, I just think you should (everyone should) be careful about making pre judgements like that. Not to get on your case, and I'm not offended or anything, but I've just been noticing stuff like that alot lately, and have been trying more than usual not to let myself do it, and I've become pretty convinced lately that people generally act in what they think is a good cause or not at all, and that others shouldn't be too harsh if they turn out to be mistaken.
