My $.02 on Palin/Letterman

I think it's much ado about nothing. It was a lame joke made by a lame late-night host who hasn't been funny in 20 years. All the talk about "raping my 14-year-old daughter" is way overblown. Speaking disrespectfully, using someone's minor children as off-color bad comedy fodder, is never acceptable. You can minimize it all you want, but in doing so, you enable them to continue without pushback. As long as people are going to just sit in some false 'dignified silence', you're telling them you're an unresisting target, and your families and friends and your faiths are open season. That is never the smart or good thing. Wrong should never go unanswered and unchallenged.

I agree with CowboyBud. Was it the classiest thing ever said? No. Was it the worse? No. It was just a freaking attempt at a joke. it is not like he is a respected political analyst doing a serious piece of commentary. It was a joke! BUT, even if it was done by someone the likes of that crazy bastard Keith Olbermann, as a serious piece, well, it is just words. I have a 17 year old daughter. If someone implied that if my daughter, when she was 14, would have been impregnated by A-Rod if she had gone to New York, I would have though that the person stating that was an idiot but I would have freaked out about it. WORDS. remember, they cannot hurt you. One persons opinion. If you cannot take the heat, get out of the kitchen

I think that it was wrong of letterman to say those jokes about the kids. I am glad that she took care of that, but really, someone should have been fired for that.
