July 4th with David Hewlett!
Yesterday was awesome! They put us and our Stargate float right behind David Hewlett :D.
David showed up to the parade dressed as Sheppard, Jane was Weir and Baz was McKay. He even showed us the black wristband he'd made out of a sock. LOL.
Before the parade he graciously allowed us to get photos with him, then he inspected the puddle jumper, I mean van, lol, laughing at all the images and such that we had stuck to it :). I'm pretty sure the words 'I love it' and 'This is fantastic' came out of his mouth :). He read every one of our 'bumper stickers' and commented on everything. He really was awesome :).

Best.Bumper.Sticker.Ever. David laughed when he read it, and we gave it to him later. He's like 'maybe we can put this on the car?' and Jane just gave him a look. lol.
David & Jane. They really are so sweet together.
A couple of nice shots during the parade.
It was kind of funny to see that more people there knew what a Stargate was than people at the Canada Day parade. lol. I guess it doesn't surprise me though.
Since turn about is fair play, David was snapping pictures of us too! I'd really love to see those!
When we got to the end of the parade route, we weren't quite at Lighthouse Park yet. David turns around to us and says 'How are you guys holding up? You know how to get there? It's just around the corner." Then jokingly added "If you need me, I'll be in the car', because we were all walking. lol. And then away he went, and our gate not far behind him.
Right around the corner, David you lie! LOL. That tiny blue shiny dot is our gate as it rounds the corner quite a ways away from us, and that still wasn't at the park yet!
After the parade we took the gate down and put it up against a wall. It was fun to see all the people who started posing for pictures with it!
David was signing autographs in the park for an hour or so afterwards.
We asked him if he'd do a group shot with us by our 'Gate when he was finished with his signing. Before the group shot, David decided it'd be fun to play in the Stargate. LOL

After all is said and done, I don't think we can ever top this. We built a Stargate, got to march in a Parade directly behind David Hewlett and hung out with him for a good portion of the day. I think all of our hard work, was totally worth it!
