SGA has finally returned! :D (with SOUND, LOL). So here's what I thought of the ep after seeing the finished product.
First off, I was completely and utterly appalled with the new opening credit sequence. They don't even have the decency to WAIT until Elizabeth is gone to replace her in the credits by Carter??? WTH? And if you were one of those people who didn't know she was being replaced, what would that say to you? The opening credits started off looking exactly the same up until the end of Joe's credit, then instead of Torri flashing in the blue coolness of the credits, we get Amanda?! Argh! I have nothing against Amanda Tapping, it's just she was only in the episode for like 5 minutes! How does she rank getting a nice shiny credit in the opening sequence, and Torri is reduced to text like special guests and other recurring characters are? At this point, she's still NOT recurring!, and Amanda is the special guest! However, I do see the need to change them, as Paul needed to be removed from the credits but still. Ticked me off, and rightly so!
Ok, and now for stuff about the ep, cause who needs more ranting and distain right?
I really did like the ep. And I might add, it definitely works better WITH music and sound effects. Though the other version was entertaining in its own right :P. All the medical stuff with Weir kinda had me cringing, especially that thing where they cut away part of her skull to allow her brain to expand beyond her head ... Omg that description the medic guy gave was nothing but disturbing! And then they actually did it. Poor Lizzie!
I did love how concerned John was about Elizabeth. He looked like he was fighting back tears when Keller told him she'd never be the same Elizabeth again :(. But then Rodney to the rescue, sorta. Replicator-Lizzie just doesn't work for me, sorry M&M. But John is definitely against it because he knows exactly how Elizabeth would feel about it and knows she never wants to go through what she did with the replicator nanites again. *Going to miss my SPARKY! :(*
Overall I think the episode was good. Some Sparky moments, I was very happy for that. Still not too keen on Carter joining Atlantis. But we've yet to see a Lizzie-less, so I'll pass judgment then.
In other news, my 'A Dog's Breakfast' finally arrived. YAY!!!! Took Amazon.com two weeks for it to get here after being shipped the 18th, but it's finally HERE!! Watched it, absolutely love it :D.
