I think that they comprised the eastern part of the later Roman empire, and they later formed the Eastern Orthodox Church, but I wouldn't bet more than $.50 or so on that, my knowledge of history being a little spotty. This is where Krikor would certainly come in handy, since he is a Student of History.

The big question is - are there any Byzantines left? I recetly learned that there are Assyrians still around in the world.

One of us could Google the Byzantines, which is how I found out about the Assyrians still around.
