well - things like natural units are just tricks to help make life easier. they exist everywhere in science ... it's kind of like using the polar coordinate system - some problems just are easier when you use a different set of rules. in audio the big trick is something called the fourier transform.
i think genius does exist, but it's a more abstract thing than using natural units or being good at physics.
it's creativity ... it's being able to put the pieces together in a way which allows you a higher sense of insight than once before. it's abut being an artist.
i appreciated this commentary.... and i think that you are right... but yes, i think that i am around such people here.... and that is quite satisfying....
as far as natural units goes: you are right, it is made to make life easier, but i just find it to be quite well, creative in a sense, that these professors are having their undergrad students learn general mechanics in this system. this is quite innovative, or at least quite different than the norm. and it is a different that is useful in the long run. i hope that it can become a trend worlwide one of these days.
and we will be doing fourrier transforms later this year :D
