To me taking a risk is putting how you feel about something on the line to wait and hope for a response that you want. Will it be worth it? How important is it to let that person know how you feel? But more importantly, how much does that response mean to you? If it is a positive response, could what you took a risk on be something that could change the rest of your life? If it is a negative response, how bad could it hurt you? How much could it affect how things are now?

but what is the point if that other person doesnt want to be involved in the situation at all? i was just simply saying that if there isnt a good reason to try, i dont think i will. so if YOU cant give me any ground to stand on, some kind of reassurance that it is worth the risk, then i wont do it, even if i do want to.

Why not take a risk? Why don't you put everything on the line. I know it isn't like you to do that, but maybe you need to. Spill your heart, and don't regret it. If you get a negative response, that person's lose, at least you can say you tried! Like you told me "Swallow your pride" put your heart on the line. If things don't work out I will be here like I always am.
