Title: The Bouquet 14&15/ 23Rating: PG, nothing too bad. Angst... but I will include fluff later on :)
Pairing: Ohmiya
Disclaimer: I do not own Arashi yet... but we all have our dreams, right?
Note: I decided to take a new approach than what I usually do and write this Ohmiya fic in it’s own timeline without them being famous. Think of this story taking place in the late 50s or so...
I did base this story off of one of my favourite pictures of them (which I’ll post at the end of the story ^_^)Please enjoy!

Flashbacks are in italics :)

Chapter Fourteen

Ohno sat quietly in the hospital bed, his hands in his lap and tears in his eyes.

Nino was next to him in the chair, his arms crossed tightly.

"They never told you what happened?" Nino asked quietly.

Ohno shook his head, his expression growing more and more distressed.

Nino leaned forward and rubbed his eyes.

"Didn’t you ever wonder why you couldn’t remember some things?" Nino asked impatiently.

Ohno’s lip trembled and he shook his head no.

"I’ll tell you... once." Nino said softly, his voice breaking slightly.

Nino hated this story...

The story of how he lost Ohno.

Nino was running late. He promised Ohno that he would be home early so they could cook the fish Ohno brought home.

And to make it worse, it was pouring down rain and Nino didn’t have his umbrella.

Nino grumbled to himself and ran out into the rainy night, using his jacket as a umbrella. Ohno glanced at the clock and looked at the frozen fish in the freezer with a pout.

He wanted fish tonight... he wanted to prove to Nino that there really was a point in fishing.

Ohno walked to the kitchen window and looked out into the rain.

It was raining harder than he thought.

Maybe Nino got stuck at work? Maybe there was a flood at the office?

Ohno’s vivid imagination ran wild with ideas, many of them involving Nino being in trouble.

Ohno waited quietly for another five minutes... a long five minutes.

He couldn’t take it anymore, Nino needed his help, he just knew it.

So Ohno grabbed his umbrella and set off down the stairs and onto the flooded road.

Whether they had crossed paths or they had taken a different route, Nino never knew.

All he knew was that Ohno wasn’t home when he arrived almost ten minutes later, soaked down to the bone.

Nino looked around in confusion, wondering where Ohno could have gone.

Then he noticed Ohno’s umbrella was gone... Nino simply thought Ohno ran out of spices or something for cooking the fish.

It didn’t seem too odd for Ohno to do that in a middle of a rain storm.

So, Nino didn’t worry. Instead, he changed into dry clothes and started to prepare Ohno’s fish that was thawing on the counter.

A full hour passed and the fish was forgotten by a worried Nino.

Ohno never took this long to pick something up at the store.

A frantic pounding on Nino’s door startled him and he rushed to open it.

On his doorstep was his landlady, pale and out of breath from running up the stairs.

"Ninomiya-kun... Ohno’s mother..."

Nino didn’t need to hear anymore. He ran past the landlady and jumped down the stairs, two or three at a time, reaching the office phone in a flash.

"Kazunari-kun... it’s Satoshi... we’re at the hospital."

Nino dropped the phone and sprinted out into the rain towards the hospital.

Chapter Fifteen

"Apparently, you went to find me... with the rain, the car didn’t see you but you jumped out of the way... you slipped and hit your head on the sidewalk."

Nino tried to hide his tears with his hand, but it was too much.

Ohno, too had started to cry.

He didn’t remember anything of that night... but it explained why he didn’t like storms.

Ohno looked over to the trembling Nino through his tears.

"You’re the boy... Kazunari..." Ohno mumbled tearfully.

Nino looked up at Ohno and nodded... but then he froze.

Did he just...

Nino stood up abruptly from his chair, startling Ohno.

"How do you know that?" Nino exclaimed breathlessly.

Ohno stared at him, his watery eyes wide.

"I always had dreams of you... but I didn’t know who you were..." Ohno mumbled.

He grabbed Nino’s hand and sobbed weakly.

"I didn’t mean to lose you! After I... after I made you promise-"

"You remember that!?" Nino asked roughly, crawling onto the bed next to Ohno.

Ohno nodded as more tears leaked down his face.

"It’s the only thing I remembered..." Ohno sobbed quietly.

Nino laughed tearfully and grabbed Ohno towards him, pulling him into a tight hug.

"But you still remembered!" Nino exclaimed, burying his head into Ohno’s neck and sobbing. Nino was more happy than he’d ever been over the last three years.

Ohno never truly forgot him.

Ohno knew this man was someone important in his life, even though he couldn’t remember exactly who he was...

When he had hugged Ohno like he did just now, Ohno knew he was the person he’d been waiting for all those mornings.

Nino pulled away from Ohno, but kept their faces inches from each other.

Nino grazed his fingers across Ohno’s face, wiping his tears from his cheeks and trailing them down to his lips, tracing their curves with his fingertips.

Ohno closed his eyes, absorbing the touches and softness of the man’s fingers.

Something deep down told Ohno this was right, that if it had been anyone else... it wouldn’t feel this soothing.

Nino paused his caress, his fingers loosely entwined through Ohno’s hair.

He was just inches away from Ohno’s lips...

But he hesitated... for the first time in Nino’s life, he hesitated before kissing Ohno.

Nino had to remember that he was still a stranger to Ohno, even if he did remember his name and a promise they made.

Ohno felt the pause and slowly opened his eyes and gazed into Nino’s tear streaked face.

Never had Ohno seen such deep and passionate eyes from anyone... well, from anyone he remembered.

"Why... why did you stop?" Ohno whispered. Nino grinned in total astonishment.

Nino straddled Ohno’s waist and took no time in finally kissing Ohno.

Ohno loved the softness of his tongue against his and the way he growled softly when

Ohno touched his skin with his fingertips.

Even if it took forever to remember this man, Ohno would never stop trying to remember.

***hmm... making out in a hospital bed... ohmiya style ;) but at least we know what happened to poor ohno now..
tomorrow's chapter, ohno finally remembers something about nino :D
