Summary: Not wanting to let go is hard...
Ohno tried to pull himself free from Nino’s grasp but failed each time. Nino held Ohno’s shoulders tightly, keeping him in place.
Ohno kept his eyes closed to avoid Nino’s hurtful stare.
"You have to listen to me, okay?"
"No... I don’t want to..."
"Don’t be stubborn."
"I don’t want to listen!"
"Toshi-"
"Don’t call me that!" Ohno sobbed quietly, keeping his teary eyes shut tightly.
But even that didn’t block out the warmth of Nino’s touch or the pained expression on his face. As Ohno tried to weakly push against him, Nino wrapped his protective arms around Ohno.
"You know... as long as you keep doing this, I’m always going to be here."
"Then I’ll keep doing this..."
Nino laughed softly at Ohno and kissed his forehead.
"You’re never going to realize it, are you?"
"No. I like how everything is right now..."
"What are you talking about? This is horrible!"
"I... I don’t think so..." Ohno whispered through the never ending tears and choked throat.
He felt Nino’s thumbs brush over his cheeks and then over his trembling lips, which Nino took a quick moment to kiss softly.
Nino sighed in defeat and watched silently and helplessly as Ohno fought with himself.
"You really want me to stay?" Nino whispered, touching his forehead with Ohno’s. Ohno frowned slightly, his eyes still shut and nodded.
Blindly, his trembling hands found their way around Nino’s waist and hugged him close.
Nino bit back tears and kissed the top of Ohno’s head gently.
"You know you’re only going to end up miserable if I stay." Nino mumbled into Ohno’s hair. Ohno clung tighter to Nino’s chest, afraid that he might somehow disappear...
"I- I’m already miserable..." Ohno sniffled into Nino’s shoulder.
"...but at least I get to see you... if you said good-bye... I’d be much worse off." Ohno sobbed, his delicate fingers gripping at Nino’s shirt so tightly that the fabric threatened to rip.
Nino remained silent, just holding the trembling person close to him and letting his own tears fall down his face and into Ohno’s hair.
He closed his eyes, wishing he could just get through to the other man just once... but until that time, Nino was going to stay.
And Ohno didn’t care about being unhappy, all that mattered was seeing Nino, feeling his warmth and his skin...
Why would he even think of leaving?
"I... just thought you’d be better off..." Nino whispered, obviously reading Ohno’s mind.
"Even if you did go... you’d always be here." Ohno choked out around thick sobs.
Nino found himself smiling tearfully and once again leaned his head against Ohno’s.
"I know..."
"And... I like sleeping. I’ve been doing that a lot..."
"...apparently."
"I don’t want to wake up."
"You will event-"
"Don’t tell me that! Being awake is hard enough!" Ohno exclaimed, finally opening up his eyes to glare at Nino, tears staining his cheeks.
Nino could only stare back helplessly into the angry and swollen eyes overflowing with tears before he was slowly replaced with the vision of a darkened bedroom as Ohno’s eyes focused.
Ohno blinked a few times quickly, looking around the silent room, dark shadows casting eerie shapes on the walls.
He was trembling head to foot, face wet with tears and the presence of Nino lingering around him.
Pulling the covers over his head, Ohno stuffed his face into a pillow and tried to stop the continuing sobs.
There was a reason that he rarely ever spoke of his six sense...
All the ghosts came to him, wanting guidance that he couldn’t give.
Eventually, they’d all leave... all except one.
One that he never wanted to say good-bye to.......
***Yeah... it's been awhile since "The Bouquet" and so I thought I'd write something else... even though this is majorly sad D: and I'm sorry for that but... yeah xD
even though I wanted to make a chapter story of this... I realized that it wouldn't be a happy ending lol
so it's just a one shot thing for now...
