Definitely the darker side of the quote. I personally interpreted it as "look for the happiness in everyday occurrences" -- take time to enjoy the beauty and special quality of transient things in life (the play of light on leaves, the purring of a cat). On further reflection, that'd probably read more like "Enjoy the moment", though.
