On "The Song of Achilles"

I really ought to write a proper review, but with everything being so busy right now, I don't feel as if I can collect my thoughts enough. But I do need to write something.

I'm also very skeptical about retellings and also about historical (ancient Mediterranean) fiction in general. But I might have to check this one out, since I am an Achilles fan.

I've been thinking about picking up 'Lavinia,' Ursula Le Guin's take on the 'Aeneid.' Have you had a chance to read that one yet?

There's a sample on Amazon if you have a Kindle or something you can send the sample to. I think you'll like it.

We've both read Lavinia as well. Elio liked it better than me, but I think its definitely well done and worth a look.
