After getting differing opinions from everyone on what I should make a petticoat out of (voile, white or ivory silk, or self-fabric) I decided to start with a voile petti because I figured I ought to have one regardless. Then there was a video call with jennylafleur who cast another vote for voile, so that tipped the vote solidly into voile's favour. Leaving

Sounds like a good solution! And yeah, you can use a voile petticoat for almost anything.
