A question I often get is where are you from. OK, so I'm not white, but I don't have an accent either. I don't take offense to it per se, but it disturbs me that non-white people are not considered "Australian" in the eyes of the mainstream. Most Australians aren't given the opportunity to experience other cultures and customs firsthand. The mainstream media paints a very distorted view of modern Australia as you don't often see minority figures on TV. I think a lot of views tend to be clouded in stereotypes.

I too have been feeling very lonely of late. I can't stand to be on my own for too long. It never used to bother me -- going to events on my own. But I was glad when Maree called me up unexpectedly yesterday. She and I ended up seeing Youth Group together so I had someone to talk to during the night. I don't have any answers for you there. All I can say is that I know the feeling. Take care Leo.
