I really shouldn’t be up, but this overwhelmed me at the bathroom and flu or no flu, I just had to write it. Also tomorrow begins NaNoWriMo, so I probably won’t have as much time anymore. Enough with the palaver and onto the ficlet ;)

A/N: I really, really like future!Hiro. He’s the ultimate proof of tragic love devotion. And he lookes yummi with a sword in hand.
Never enough
The first week after Ando’s taken from him, he experiences again and again and again.
He’s seen a hundred Andos starring at him with dead eyes, mouth opened in a dying scream, even as his head was coming apart. Sometimes the scene is vaguely different, sometimes he hears the cry „Hiro!“, once Ando opens his mouth to say „I love you...“ but the last word is drowned out by the blood flooding his mouth. Hiro brandishes his sword, red clouding his mind, and drives it into Sylar’s chest, again. But it’s not enough, it’s never enough.
After the sixth time he loses his resolve, after the the fifteenth he quits counting. The times blend together and he barely knows what day it is anymore. The only landmark is Ando’s pleading face.
Once, he overcalculates, swirls around and nearly cuts Ando’s dying corpse open. It’s the moment he stops for the first time, realising that maybe it’s not the moment, maybe it’s not the right man.
If he wants to save anything, he’ll need a plan.
