Read a Book (Because if the Smith-ka-teers can do it...)

Since badmovie just hit 42 books, I figure I can write up mine...

First book started & finished in 2010: Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective AgencyWas it interesting? It's Douglas Adams, so it damn well better be. I found it to be less funny than Hitchhiker's, but still a very pleasant read. It reminds me more of Rick Cook's writing than DNA's, though ( Read more... )

so long and thanks for all the posts, bound and printed, tagged and returned to the wild

Is Tea Time the one with the couch? I LOVED that part.

And also, why does nobody ever give credit where credit is due? badmovie stole the book meme from me! (Which I think I stole it from someone else but that's not the point here).

HRUMPH!!!

No, Holistic Agency is the one with the couch. I can only hope that someday I will end up with a couch embedded in a hallway in a manner that defies physics.

badmovie may have stolen it from you, but he just posted #42 (and 43, and...) in time for me to read it right after completing a book by DNA. ;)

I was robbed!

(On the whole, I think I preferred the Holistic Detective Agency, but the two books are pretty mingled in my head since I read them back to back).

Which is odd, because most of the people I've talked to said to read Teatime first because it was better, despite technically being the sequel.

Holistic is the Professor of Chronitis, Electronic Monk, Couch in the Stairwell, Bigwig Software Developer book.

I'll let you know which one Teatime is when I get there. ;)

I didn't like Teatime very much, but I haven't read it since it came out. Perhaps I should give it another check.

I loved Last Chance to See, but last I checked, it's waaaaay out of print.
