Perhaps it is the word 'romantically' that made him vague. Romantic (in manga anyway) usually implies mushy feelings, and starry eyes, drama, etc... and they are both not really like that, I can't really even see them like that if they were in love. They might be happier, or more content, but never act the way a typical 'romantic' anime character would... does that make since?
But the 'get together' means love-relationship to me!
So, it's official, they do 'get together'!!!!

Agreed! I was very confused about the part where he says that they probably do "get together", cause it seemed a bit contradictory. "Get together" doesn't really have other meanings does it

I guess "get together" could also mean "hooking up", but it seems more like a vague way of saying yes, without confirming it... like you said Hiruma is a popular character and keeping him ambiguous make all possibilities possible

Thanks alot for sharing this information! I too thought this comm was dead, and it was a depressing sight because I'm new to the ES21 fandom. I've gotta thank that manga for converting me to football, the very same person who's never been a sport lover before. Hiruma's to blame for that, the sly little devil XD
I've always wondered if Hiruma and Mamori would get together romantically... Although the author stays vague on the subject, my guess is that he won't answer clearly because Hiruma wouldn't be Hiruma if he wasn't shrouded in mystery. We don't know much about his past, much less about his family, so it's only to be expected that his love life also he kept under wraps. And considering the kind of hobbies he has outside of Football, I'd say it's a very wise choice to keep potential targets out of sight.
Do you guys know anyone else who's still in the ES21 fandom? It'd be great to chat with people who're as passioned as we are about the manga :)
