My Time To Shine
I’ve lived within my siblings’ shadows,
Trying to keep up with their pace.
Always trying to be better than each other,
Our goals have now become a race.
We all fight for our own recognition,
Although we all make our parents proud.
I promised to prove myself to my siblings,
So giving up is no longer allowed.
I will step from their shadows now,
To prove that I can and will succeed.
It’s my time to shine brighter than stars,
And make their shadows over me recede.
