 Unrequited Love
I’m falling deeper into this feeling,
While I struggle to break free.
This isn’t supposed to happen,
He doesn’t even look at me.
His heart is not mine to hold,
But this feeling won’t leave.
I can’t seem to fool myself,
No matter how hard I believe.
The very thought of him not there,
Makes these tears threaten to fall.
Living with this unrequited love,
Is better than without him at all.
I’ll plaster on my best of smiles,
And listen to him describe his day.
As long as he’s happy and smiling,
Somehow I know I’ll be okay.
