Thinking of You

A/N: Written for a person who I never had the privilege of meeting, but I know he was a great man. He went overseas when the whole crap in the Middle East started in 2001. Because of his loyalty to his country, he ended up dying on enemy grounds. Even though he and I never really knew each other existed, I was still inspired by him and I wish I could tell him how much he's actually done for me. It makes me sad when I realize that his death is the reason I began writing. It seems like nothing, but I owe seven years of writing to him. I'll be thankful to him even after I die...

Thinking of You
It’s already been seven years
Since I first encountered you
Although we never met each other
I still didn’t know what I should do
It saddens me that it took your death
For this gift of mine to appear
Now whenever I’m thinking of you
I always seem to be shedding a tear
Even if it’s just for a moment
I wish you could hear what I say
Thanks to you I found my inspiration
And I write because of you every day
I wish I could repay you somehow
Yet there’s only one thing I can do
For the remainder of my lifetime
All I can do is remember you
