While they’re still in high school, the university across the street brings them two brothers much like themselves. Not only are they twins, but they harbor the same feelings, the same hate. In a place that only manages to acknowledge flaws, it’s no wonder the four of them have grown close. Perhaps a little too close…

Chapter Two:
Junsu groaned, blinking up at the ceiling. He hadn’t remembered falling asleep, but apparently he had. He tried to sit up, finding that Junho was sprawled out on top of him, drooling slightly. Junsu grumbled under his breath at Junho’s drooling habits as his tank top was now saturated from his twin’s problem. He tried to wake the other up, only succeeding in being squished more.
“Junho, get up,” he said, closing one eye as his brother stirred, smashing their cheeks together and continuing to snore. “Get up!” He shoved Junho off of him, the other barking at being thrown on the floor.
“Yah, Su, why’d you do that?” he asked, glaring up at the younger.
“We fell asleep. Did we finish our report?” He looked over at the laptop, eyes widening at the screen. “We finished it? But I don’t remember doing any of it…”
“Because you didn’t,” someone interrupted. Junho and Junsu looked over to see their best friend, none other than Park Yuchun, standing in their doorway that led to their kitchen.”
“How did you get in our dorm room?!” Junho screeched, standing up.
“You guys never lock the door.” Yuchun grinned at their appalled expressions as he bit into the apple he was holding. “You guys are out of fruit, by the way. You should restock it so I have brain food to keep you from being kicked out. Your grades are horrible and you’re barely passing.”
“What if we were having sex and you just let yourself in?” Junsu asked, causing Junho’s face to flush and Yuchun to smirk.
“I didn’t hear either of you. You’re both so noisy that Yunho can hear you and his dorm is in the other building.”
“That’s only because he’s the principal’s grandson.” Junsu thought for a moment, face going red. “Yah! We aren’t loud enough for Yunho to hear us!”
Yuchun snorted, snapping his fingers at them. “Come on, hurry and get dressed.” When neither twin moved to do so, he walked over and grabbed the collar of Junho’s shirt, pulling it over his head. “Go on. Get.”
Junho snatched his shirt, grabbing Junsu’s wrist and pulling the younger so they could get changed for the classes. Yuchun waited a few minutes before they returned, wearing identical pairs of designer jeans and casual shirts, Junsu’s red and Junho’s blue. They watched as Yuchun pulled two velvet cases from his backpack, smiling as he held them out toward the twins.
“Should I be worried?” Junho asked, taking the box cautiously. He and Junsu opened them, staring wide-eyed at what was inside.
Two identical white gold chains for them to wear, each displaying a circular dog tag that each of their names was engraved on. Junsu stared at Yuchun. “These must have been expensive…why’d you get them?”
Yuchun walked over, patting the twins on the head. “You’re my pets!” He ducked when Junsu took a swing at him. “Yah, put the damned thing on. Those cost me half of next semester’s tuition.”
Junho gawked at him. “Half of next semester’s tuition? They why’d you buy them?!”
Yuchun smiled, throwing his arms around the two of them. “Because you’re my friends and I wanted to give you at least one nice thing.” He pecked each of them on the cheek, them groaning before sharing a look. Yuchun took a step back, gulping at the mischievous look in their eyes. “Guys, please tell me you aren’t thinking what I think you’re thinking…”
“Oh, Yuchunnie,” they called together, turning to face him. They pounced as soon as he turned to run, the three of them landing in a heap on the floor, Yuchun kicking to try to get out from under them.
“We’ll give you a kiss on the cheek for every year we’ve known you!” Junho sang, watching the color drain from Yuchun’s face.
“N-no, that’s okay!” Yuchun said, trying to escape again, frowning when they pinned down his arms.
“We’re twenty-five now and have known each other since we were five,” Junsu said, smirking at the way Yuchun fought harder to get free. “That means you get ten kisses from each of us!”
“Junsu, Junho, I’m sorry for calling you my pets! We’re friends, right? Please, let go of me!” Yuchun tried flailing again, making a disgusted noise when Junsu and Junho each kissed one of his cheeks. “Gross! Let me up!”
“We can’t let you up yet,” Junho said, placing another kiss against Yuchun’s cheek. “You still have sixteen kisses to go!”
Junsu smirked, looking over at Junho before he nudged Yuchun. “Or we could each give you one kiss to make up for it.”
Yuchun looked at him, gulping as he contemplated it. “Just get it over with. One kiss is better than sixteen more!”
Junsu shrugged, sitting up and pulling Yuchun into a sitting position before shoving his back against the couch. He pulled Junho to sit next to him, both wearing smirks as they stared at Yuchun. “Remember, you said one kiss was better than sixteen, okay? You can’t get mad at us for doing what you said.”
Junsu and Junho both leaned forward, each kissing half of Yuchun’s mouth. Yuchun felt his eyes widen to where they might fall out of their sockets at what he had just experienced. Never again would he say that one kiss is better than sixteen…not when the troublesome Kim twins were the ones behind the kissing. Despite trying to fight against it, Yuchun felt his eyes sliding closed, absentmindedly opening his mouth. Junsu and Junho looked at each other through the corners of their eyes before they plunged their tongues inside Yuchun’s mouth, closing their eyes as well. Before Yuchun could succumb to the temptation too much, he pushed them both away, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
“If either of you tell anyone that I just kissed the two of you, I will skin you alive,” Yuchun said, getting to his feet. He knelt to pick up the velvet boxes and he sat on the couch, motioning for them to sit in front of him and face the other direction. They did as he instructed, both protesting mentally about having to wear the collar-like jewelry Yuchun bought them.
“Just don’t call us your pets,” Junsu said, feeling the cool metal press against his neck. After he felt Yuchun’s fingers disappear from the back of his neck, he stood and went to look in a mirror, smiling to himself about how well Yuchun knew his taste in jewelry.
“We have to get to class before we get into trouble,” Junho stated, looking at the clock and then gasping. “We have five minutes to get to class!”
Yuchun looked over at the clock, too, frowning at the hands moving closer to the eight. Had they really wasted so much time? He had gotten there an hour ago in time to write their paper and wake them up. “You guys are going to make me lose my perfect attendance!” he screamed, bolting up and out of their dorm. Junsu and Junho followed suit, one grabbing the laptop and one grabbing their backpacks. They hurried off to their first class, hoping the teacher would be lenient.
Youngmin and Kwangmin stood outside their school building, their clasped hands in between them. They stared at he brick structure, Youngmin refusing to go inside. He didn’t want to go to that school. It was too different from their old one. He felt Kwangmin tug against him, and he shook his head. “I’m not going to school today,” he stated, dropping Kwangmin’s hand and turning around. He started for the sidewalk across the street, deciding he’d go play today and start school tomorrow.
Kwangmin sighed, wondering how Youngmin was the older twin. “Yah, Youngmin, come back. We’ll go in together,” he said, heading after him.
Hearing Kwangmin, he shook his head. “I don’t want to! There is nothing that will make me go to that school! It’s ugly and it’s too damn little!”
“You’re just used to the school we went to a week ago. You’ll adjust to this one.” He reached out and grabbed the other’s wrist, trying to pull him back to the building.
“No, I don’t want to go!” Youngmin pulled against the younger, sending both of them in different directions. Youngmin fell to his knees on the sidewalk, eyes closed tightly as Kwangmin fell onto the asphalt.
He looked up, finding himself on his stomach as a few of the university students stood around and watched what had happened. He pushed himself up, mouth falling open in shock at the scrape on his arm oozing blood. “Youngmin, are you okay?” he asked, looking over his shoulder.
Youngmin nodded, turning around to look at the younger. “I’m fine, Kwangmin.” He noticed the blood trickling down his brother’s arm and gasped, getting up and running over to him. “Oh, Kwangmin, you got hurt!”
Kwangmin smiled, trying to wave it off as nothing. “I’m fine. It’s just a scrape.”
Youngmin frowned, but nodded. He sighed and looked up in time to see a car screaming down the road toward them, it’s driver clearly not paying attention. He dove, knocking Kwangmin over and rolling both of them out of the way. The car whizzed by them, not even stopping to check if it had hit either of them, but three of the university students that had stopped when they were arguing ran over to check on them.
Kwangmin opened his eyes slowly, finding that Youngmin’s arms were protectively around him, cradling his head to his chest. He sat up, watching as Youngmin stayed there, unmoving. He reached out to touch him, lifting the elder’s head off the pavement and gasping as his hand was met with a gooey, red substance.
“Are you okay?” one of the university students asked, eyebrows knitted together with worry.
Kwangmin shook his head. “Youngmin’s hurt…” he said, turning his twin’s head slightly to see how big of an injury he had gotten.
“Come on,” Junsu stated, motioning for Kwangmin to get up. He turned to Junho and Yuchun. “Let’s get them back to our dorm and cleaned up. I don’t think the blond one suffered too major of a head injury. The worst he’ll have is a headache.”
Junho nodded, kneeling with his back toward the two younger twins. “Yuchun, help him get the blond onto my back. We’ll call Changmin over from the infirmary to take a look at him,” he replied.
Yuchun knelt beside Kwangmin, a warm smile on his face. “Don’t worry,” he said when he figured the brunet would hiss at him if he tried getting closer to the blond. “We’ll take care of the two of you.” He reached out and gently sat Youngmin up, supporting the younger’s head with his arm. He leaned him forward, the blond resting against Junho’s back.
Junsu held his hand out to Kwangmin, the younger taking it and standing up. Junsu waited for Yuchun and Junho to stand up, careful not to shake Youngmin. “We’ll have to call the principal and tell him why we can’t go to class.”
Yuchun frowned. “There goes my perfect attendance.” He shook his head. “It doesn’t matter anymore. Let’s get them to your place.”
They led Kwangmin to their dorm, Junsu opening the door and stepping aside. Yuchun and Junho entered first, carefully setting Youngmin on the couch as Kwangmin shyly stepped into the room. Junsu followed him in, closing the door behind him. “I’ll call Changmin,” Yuchun said, pulling out his phone.
Kwangmin went over to sit by the couch, taking Youngmin’s hand gently in his. “Yah, Youngmin, wake up,” he said, shaking him lightly. Junsu and Junho watched him, tears springing to their eyes. Yuchun had left the room to speak with Changmin about what happened, Junsu going to the kitchen to get the first aid kit.
Yuchun returned just as Junsu entered the living room and set down the kit on the coffee table. “Changmin said he’ll be over as soon as he can. He’s with Yunho right now. The damned fool went and sprained his ankle trying to do a cartwheel.”
Junsu tapped Kwangmin on the shoulder, the younger looking up at him. “Will you move over a little so I can clean up the gash on his forehead?” Kwangmin did so, watching as Junsu carefully tilted Youngmin’s head, brushing his hair out of the way.
Junho reacted quickly, grabbing Kwangmin’s head and turning it away, not wanting him to see the gash in full force. It wasn’t as bad as some injuries, but being that young, it could be slightly traumatic. “I’ll tell you when it’s safe to look,” he whispered, keeping Kwangmin from looking over.
“I-is it that bad?” Kwangmin asked, his voice breaking slightly at the thought of Youngmin being hurt because of him.
“It isn’t too bad to where he’ll need to be hospitalized, but he will need stitches,” Junsu murmured in response, using the cotton ball to wipe away the blood. A knock on the door and Changmin entered, a small briefcase in his hand.
“What happened exactly?” he asked, looking to each of the people in the room.
Kwangmin looked up at him, eyes shiny from tears that were only a few seconds away from falling. “Youngmin and I were arguing and then I fell in the street. I cut my arm open, but I’m fine. Youngmin hit his head on the ground when he tackled me out of the way of a car.”
Changmin nodded, going over and tapping Junsu. The other moved out of the way, taking the used materials and dumping them into the trash can. Changmin examined Youngmin’s head, smiling as he opened his briefcase. “He’ll be fine. Just needs a few stitches is all.”
“Told you,” Junsu said, earning a smack on the arm from Yuchun.
“Be nice,” Yuchun whispered. “The kid is spooked enough with his brother being unconscious.”
Changmin worked quickly, Youngmin’s injury being stitched perfectly. “There. He’ll need to take some painkillers when he wakes up.” He turned to the others in the room, frowning before he hit Junsu on the side of the head. “Yah, don’t let kids play in the street.”
“Why are you blaming me? I didn’t do anything!” Junsu argued, rubbing his head.
Changmin rolled his eyes, closing his case and heading for the door. “Have him come see me in a week to check on those stitches.” He left without another word, Kwangmin bolting over to sit next to Youngmin again.
“Kid, why don’t you call your parents?” Yuchun suggested. “They’ll want to know what happened.”
Kwangmin nodded, pulling out his phone. He scrolled through the contacts list, thumb hovering over the key that would dial their mom. He didn’t know why he was so afraid of calling her. Probably just scared about her screaming at him about them not being careful or something and screeching that they needed to go to class. “I’ll have Youngmin call when he wakes up,” he murmured, pocketing his phone.
Junho gave Yuchun and Junsu a look before he went to sit on the arm of the couch. He waited for Kwangmin to look over at him, smiling softly when he did. “I’m Junho. Kim Junho.” He nodded in Yuchun and Junsu’s direction. “That goofy looking one is Yuchun and the other is my brother Junsu.”
Kwangmin smiled a little. “I’m Jo Kwangmin and this is Youngmin.”
“Nice to meet you,” Yuchun said before he went over and grabbed Junho by his shirt collar. “I’m goofy looking? How am I goofy looking?”
“You just are.” Junho fought back a laugh. “At least your voice isn’t weird like Junsu’s.”
Yuchun looked over at Junsu before laughing. “I agree. I’ll take looking goofy over having a weird voice any day. Looking goofy can be fixed, having a weird voice can’t.”
“I don’t have a weird voice!” Junsu whined, crossing his arms. He pouted before he turned and went into the kitchen.
“You upset him,” Kwangmin stated, staring at the door.
Junho laughed. “We’re always like this. In two minutes, Junsu will probably run out here and attack one of us. Then we’ll end up rolling on the floor like five year olds and laughing like we always do.”
“Trust me, Kwangmin, this happens every day.” Yuchun smiled, laughing as Junsu came running from the kitchen and jumped on Junho, the two of them falling to the floor.
“I have a weird voice, huh? You didn’t seem to mind it last night!” Junsu laughed when Junho’s face started turning red.
Smirking, Junho rolled over, pinning Junsu to the floor. “I was a bit preoccupied with those hips of yours. The way you sway them when you walk, you resemble a duck!”
Youngmin opened his eyes, holding back a groan. He placed a hand to his head, feeling the thread of stitches. He pulled on Kwangmin’s hand, the younger looking over and his eyes going wide. “Kwangmin, what happened?” he asked.
“Youngmin!” he shrieked in response, tears streaming down his face in relief. “You’re awake!” He hugged Youngmin tightly, pressing light kisses all over his face.
Youngmin cupped his face, staring at him before he remembered. “Yah, you’re not hurt are you?” he asked, panic setting in. “That car would have flattened you!”
“I’m fine. You hit your head on the asphalt and it knocked you out. The worst I have is a few scrapes. Your head hurts, right?” When Youngmin nodded, Kwangmin brushed his hair out of the way, pressing a light kiss to the stitches. He smiled at Youngmin, leaning forward to give him a swift kiss.
Youngmin wrapped his arms around Kwangmin’s waist, pulling him to sit on his lap. He closed his eyes, totally absorbed in the kiss until someone gasped. He and Kwangmin looked over to see the other three staring at them, their faces heating up as they remembered they weren’t the only ones in the room.
“We can explain!” they said simultaneously, each holding out one hand to stop the other three from doing anything.
“You…you’re…” Junho couldn’t quite find the right words to say, deciding to just stare at them. Junsu was speechless, mouth open in shock.
Yuchun stared at them with wide eyes. “You’re like them?!” He pointed at the Jo twins before he pointed to Junsu and Junho, looking between the two sets of brothers. “This is ridiculous. The probability of one set of twins being infatuated with each other and here I’ve stumbled across another pair just like that?” Yuchun shook his head. “This is too weird…”
Kwangmin stared at Junho and Junsu, watching as the two sat up. “You’re like us?”
Junsu glanced at Junho before turning his full attention to Kwangmin and Youngmin. “Well, to be honest…” He bit his lip, trying to find the right words, looking down when Junho grabbed his hand.
Junho looked at Kwangmin and Youngmin. “Junsu and I are twins, but we’re also dating each other.”
Youngmin blinked at them. “You’re dating each other and people don’t care?”
“It’s not that they don’t care, it’s just…” Junho frowned, once again stuck on trying to find the right words.
“They don’t talk to their parents much,” Yuchun supplied. “And they have friends who know about them being together, like me for example. When their parents come around, one of us always pretends to be dating one of them. I think last time it was Yunho who was dating Junsu…” He looked at Junsu and Junho. “Or was it Changmin that was dating Junho?”
Junsu rolled his eyes. “If we’re going to keep this lie afloat, you need to make cheat sheets. I was dating Yunho, you were dating Junho.”
“So you’re lying to your parents?” Kwangmin asked.
Junho smiled before letting out an awkward laugh. “Yeah, we have been since we moved out. Yuchun’s been friends with us since we were five, so he’s kind of been our scapegoat.”
Youngmin nodded as he processed the information. “So, your parents don’t know you’re dating each other and you use your friends as your pretend boyfriends whenever they come around?” When the three of them nodded, he smiled and looked at Kwangmin. “I think our relationship will work out just fine then.” Turning back to the elder three, he smiled. “Will you three be our scapegoats?”
