Chapter Four:
They were all sitting in the living room, the silence deafening. Kwangmin and Youngmin were sitting in the middle of the couch, Junsu and Junho seated on either side of them, almost protectively. Yuchun was sitting on the floor across from them, arms folded on the coffee table as his head rested on them. He opened his mouth to speak when there was a knock on the door, it opening and revealing Kim Jaejoong and Kim Ryeowook.
“Why is it so quiet in here?” Jaejoong asked, frowning. “Who died?”
Junsu glared at him and he took a step back, hands raised in mock surrender. “We were just discussing Junho and I having house guests,” Junsu quipped, turning his attention back to the matter at hand. “Personally, I don’t have a problem with the two of you staying here. The fact that your mom even went as far as to put her hands on you is a sign that it’s not safe for you to ever go back.”
Kwangmin’s eyes widened, unshed tears making them shiny again. “You mean we should just give up on ever going home?” he asked, grabbing one of Youngmin’s hands for support.
“Think about it,” Junho suggested. “If just hearing either of you speak sets your mom off, it’s better that you don’t see her for a long time.”
Youngmin frowned as Kwangmin buried his face in his chest and he patted the younger’s back. “We’ll be fine, Kwangmin. If Mom and Dad can’t separate us, nothing can,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to the other’s temple.
Jaejoong gawked. “They’re like you?!” he shrieked, causing the two sets of twins to look up at him. He stared at the Jo twins before moving to sit on the coffee table in front of them. “Yah, this is even scarier than you two being twins. The two of them are identical.”
Youngmin stared at Jaejoong, getting annoyed at the elder waving a hand in front of his face. The next time his hand appeared in front of his face, he leaned over and bit down, leaving teeth marks as Jaejoong yelped. Kwangmin peered out to see what happened, a small smile forming on his lips at noticing that Youngmin bit someone before he sat up straight. He hit Youngmin lightly on the arm.
“Yah, why are you biting other people?” he asked, pouting.
Youngmin gave him that startled, wide-eyed look before hugging him tightly. “Sorry, Kwangmin. I won’t bite other people without consulting you on it first.”
Kwangmin smiled up at the elder. “You only have permission to bite Junsu and Junho. Maybe Yuchun, if he behaves.”
Yuchun gaped at them. “Yah, why if I behave?! Shouldn’t it be if I misbehave?” he asked, not looking forward to Youngmin’s teeth randomly sink into his flesh. He gulped as the Jo twins gave him identical looks that could only mean that they were up to something devious.
Junho patted Kwangmin on the head as Junsu patted Youngmin, being so in tune with each other it was almost scary. Jaejoong stared as Kwangmin and Youngmin both closed their eyes, leaning into the elder set’s pats as if they were some sort of house pets. He looked at Yuchun who was shaking his head before he looked back at the two sets of twins.
“Yah, that’s creepy. Don’t do that twin telepathy thing, okay?”
The four of them exchange gazes before they all looked at Jaejoong. “What creepy twin telepathy thing?” the four of them uttered together, almost sickeningly in sync with each other. Ryeowook and Jaejoong only stared at them, unable to believe that such people could exist.
“Stop doing that!” Jaejoong whined. “It’s creepy!”
“I find it cute,” Ryeowook murmured, eyes shifting to the floor as Jaejoong gawked at him. He smiled, gnawing on his bottom lip before looking up through his lashes at the twins. “I find twins really cute…”
Yuchun sat up straight, poking Ryeowook in the back of the leg. “What about me? Didn’t you say last week that you’re smitten with me?”
Junsu laughed. “Who uses the word smitten these days?” He laughed harder when Ryeowook’s face went from slightly pink to a deep red. “Yah, Wook, you’re a smart kid. Why like Yuchun? He’s loud, obnoxious, annoying-”
“The only person keeping the two of you from getting kicked out of university,” Yuchun interrupted, silencing Junsu. He smirked when the other had nothing to say about being interrupted. “That’s what I thought.”
“So, are we going to be able to stay here?” Kwangmin asked, bringing their attention back to the problem.
“Junsu already said he doesn’t have a problem with it,” Junho stated, scratching his head. “And I don’t have a problem with it either. You two don’t mind sharing a room with us, do you?”
They both shook their heads and Junsu smirked. “You do realize that we only have one bed, right?” he asked, Kwangmin and Youngmin glancing at each other before looking back at him. He laughed, patting Youngmin on the head again. “Don’t worry. Junho and I can sleep out here while the two of you share our room.”
Jaejoong nudged Junho with his foot. “Yah, why are these puppies staying with you?” he asked, Kwangmin’s eye twitching at being called a dog.
“We’re not dogs,” Kwangmin stated, crossing his arms.
Junho looked at the clock hanging on the wall. “Yah, Jaejoong, take your brother and Yuchun and go somewhere. Su and I need to help Kwangmin and Youngmin get settled and then we have to get something for dinner.”
Jaejoong pouted, but stood to leave anyway. “Wook, Chun, let’s go. We’ll go get Italian food or something.”
After Jaejoong, Yuchun, and Ryeowook left, Junsu and Junho looked at each other for a moment while Kwangmin and Youngmin went to the bedroom to put their things away. “So, what should we do? Want to break them in a little before the four of us spend the first night together?” Junsu asked, nodding toward the door.
Junho got to his feet, going to their door and locking the handle and deadbolt. He passed a glance over his shoulder to Junsu, the younger getting off the couch. “Let’s go give our houseguests a welcoming party,” Junho suggested, walking toward the bedroom with Junsu on his heels. He pushed open the door, leaning against the frame as he watched Kwangmin and Youngmin pile what little belongings they had brought with them in the corner.
“Is something wrong, Junho hyung?” Youngmin asked, finally noticing the Kim twins standing at the door.
“No, nothing’s wrong. We just wanted to welcome you.” Junho pulled Junsu by the wrist into the room, turning and closing the door behind him. Turning back to face the younger set of twins, he walked over, Youngmin backing up until his back was against the wall. “You’re the older twin, right?”
Nodding, Youngmin went to step around Junho until he placed his hand on the wall beside Youngmin’s head. He looked up at the elder, wondering if he should just duck under his arm. From the corner of his eye, he could see Junsu pull Kwangmin to the bed, peering down at him with a smirk on his face. He felt his eye twitch when Junsu placed a swift kiss on Kwangmin’s lips.
“Yah, tell your other half to get off of my twin,” Youngmin growled, moving to do it himself. His eyes widened when Junho’s arm snaked around his waist, keeping him from moving. He peered back at the elder. “Let go.”
Junho smiled, pulling Youngmin closer until his back was flush against him. He brought his lips to the younger’s ear, his voice low as he spoke. “Your twin is simply being welcomed by my twin,” he murmured, a shiver running up Youngmin’s spine. “And you’ll be welcomed by me.”
Youngmin was about to ask what he meant, but every thought vanished once he felt Junho’s lips brush his neck, the elder’s teeth grazing his skin. He passed one more glance at Kwangmin, his twin’s lips locked in a battle with Junsu’s. Feeling Junho’s hand snake down his side, slipping under the hem of his shirt and nails scraping across his flesh, Youngmin’s eyes fluttered closed.
If this is the welcoming party, I wonder what will happen when we leave, Youngmin thought, his brain beginning to become hazy.
Youngmin opened his eyes, finding that it was well after midnight. Sighing, he sat up, goose bumps rising on his exposed skin. He looked himself over, frowning as he ran a hand through his hair. “What the hell did I get us into?” he whispered, climbing out of the Kim twins’ bed. He felt around the floor, grabbing his boxers and pulling them on. He went to the door, casting a look at the three sleeping forms on the bed.
Shaking his head in disappointment, Youngmin went into the living area of their home, sitting down on the couch. He pulled the blanket from the back of the couch onto his lap, unfolding it before twirling it around himself. He curled up into a ball on the couch, tears in his eyes. My body aches, he thought to himself, wincing as he shifted his weight. He laid down, resting his head on the arm of the couch. I miss Mom and Dad. I miss my warm bed. We shouldn’t have come here and we shouldn’t have told Mom that we’re in love with each other.
Closing his eyes, Youngmin felt tears slip down his cheeks, biting down on the blanket to keep himself from making noise as he cried. He was almost asleep when he faintly heard someone shuffle around, entering the living room. Their steps were too heavy to be Kwangmin, so he knew it was Junho or Junsu. Feigning sleep, he felt whoever it was stop beside him.
“Yah, what are you out here for?” Junsu asked. Youngmin could hear the worry in his voice, chancing a peek at the other. Noticing the tears streaking Youngmin’s face, Junsu sat down, pulling Youngmin into his lap. “Why are you crying, hm?”
Youngmin blinked a few times, wanting to deny that he wasn’t, but the tears marking his face said otherwise. Instead, Youngmin buried his face in Junsu’s chest, arms winding around his neck as he clung to the elder. He sniffled, trying to make himself sound better than he felt. “I miss Mom. Even if she hits me and hates me, I want to go back.”
Junsu patted his back, rocking him slightly. “You should care about being hit. No one deserves it and it’s considered child abuse when parents hit their kids. Discipline is one thing, but downright hitting a child is wrong. She had no right to hit you. Being in love isn’t a crime.”
“But when my love is wrong, what more can I do? I shouldn’t love my twin the way I do. It’s wrong for us to-”
“That’s enough,” Junho interrupted, causing Junsu to look over at him and Youngmin to shrink as much as he could into Junsu’s embrace. “Stop telling yourself that your love is wrong. If you don’t believe in it, no one will think it exits. Stop pitying yourself. So what if your mom hates you? You’d have grown up and left her at some point in time. The sooner the better, right? You can live how you want, loving your brother as if it was the most reasonable thing in the world.”
“But, Junho hyung, I-” Youngmin stopped, the look the elder gave him menacing.
“You think that your love is wrong, that being in love with your brother is a crime. Try being the reason he has to go to therapy once a month or the fact that he can’t stand to look at himself in the mirror in fear of seeing his twin staring back at him.”
Junsu tensed, Youngmin looking at him as he was carefully set aside. Standing up, Junsu frowned at Junho. “I thought you were over all of that…” he whispered.
Junho shook his head. “I damaged you, Su. That’s something I hate myself for every day. I kept trying to justify myself all of those years, but I can’t make excuses forever. I forced you to fall in love with me by never allowing you to be around anyone else.”
Junsu walked over to him, pulling Junho into a hug and placing a kiss on his cheek. “I fell for you because we’re supposed to be together. You were a protective brother, one that kept me from getting into trouble and I thank you for that. Stop blaming yourself for my having to go to therapy. It has nothing to do with you.”
Youngmin pulled the blanket closing to himself. “You have to go to therapy? What for?”
Junsu looked over his shoulder at the younger, smiling at him. “I’ll tell you after I’ve come to terms with it. Until then, my lips are sealed.” He winked at the younger before turning back to Junho. “Let’s go back to bed. I don’t have to leave until the afternoon for my session.”
Junho looked from Junsu to Youngmin. “I’ll go back to bed. Stay here with the kid until he’s ready to come back, too.” He gave Junsu a kiss before slipping back into the bedroom.
Junsu went back to the couch, throwing his arm over Youngmin’s shoulders as he sat down. Pulling the younger close, he reached for the television remote, Youngmin’s hand reaching out to stop him. He looked at him with confused eyes. “What’s wrong?”
“Will you go wake Kwangmin up for me and tell him to come here?” Youngmin asked, eyes locked on the coffee table.
Junsu stood, watching as Youngmin’s eyes never moved from the table as he went to the room. Junho was hugging his pillow, mumbling softly in his sleep about forgiveness. Looking to Kwangmin, Junsu found the younger curled into a ball, arms wrapped around himself. Walking to the bed, Junsu shook Kwangmin from his sleep.
“Yah, Youngmin wants to see you in the living room.”
Kwangmin opened his eyes at the mention of his twin, sitting up and starting for the door. Junsu caught his wrist, handing him a pair of boxers before turning and climbing into bed with Junho. Kwangmin blinked as he pulled them on, watching as Junho instinctively reached his hand out and found Junsu’s while he slept, intertwining their fingers.
Entering the living room, Kwangmin found Youngmin on the couch, eyes downcast as his twin thought of something. Hearing him approach, Youngmin looked up, standing to meet Kwangmin halfway. Taking him by the shoulders, Youngmin stared intently into Kwangmin’s eyes.
“Kwangmin, do you love me?” he asked, voice serious. Kwangmin nodded. “Are you in love with me?”
“Of course, I am. Youngmin, why are you asking questions you already know the answers to?” Kwangmin replied, frowning. “Are you okay?” Youngmin looked down, Kwangmin’s eyebrows knitting together. He tipped his twin’s face back up, meeting his gaze. “Have you been crying?”
Youngmin bit his lip before he nodded once. “I was talking to Junho hyung and Junsu hyung. I miss Mom and told them I want to go home even if Mom hits me and hates me.”
“I won’t let her hurt you anymore, Youngmin. Seeing other people put their hands on you makes my blood boil.”
“Kiss me,” Youngmin murmured. He watched a look of confusion cross his brother’s face before he pulled Kwangmin close and wound his arms around him, hands splayed on his back. “Kiss me and make me forget that this day ever happened. Make me forget everything but you.”
Hesitating, Kwangmin stared at Youngmin. He felt his breath catch in his throat at seeing tears in his brother’s eyes. “I’ll make you forget about everything,” he whispered, cupping Youngmin’s face and kissing him.
Youngmin closed his eyes, the feeling of his twin’s lips against his soothing him. He felt a few stray tears slip down his cheeks, Kwangmin’s thumbs wiping them away. He reached up, fisting his hands in Kwangmin’s hair as he felt himself being pushed toward the couch. Youngmin fell back onto the cushions, Kwangmin above him, their lips still molded together. He felt Kwangmin’s hands on his sides and he shivered, the younger’s fingers gliding over his skin with feathery light touches. Kwangmin broke the kiss, mouth gliding along Youngmin’s jaw line and down to his neck.
Youngmin opened his eyes a crack, staring at the ceiling as he felt Kwangmin’s teeth nip at his neck. “Make me forget…erase the past few days from my memories.”
Kwangmin looked at Youngmin, catching and holding his gaze. “I’ll make you forget about everything that isn’t us.” He brought his lips down against his twin’s neck again, tongue leaving a trail as he moved lower.
Closing his eyes as he felt Kwangmin’s tongue trace patterns on his chest, Youngmin exhaled slowly, his breath catching in his throat as he felt Kwangmin’s fingers slip into the waistband of his boxers, inching them lower. Kwangmin, you know I love you, right? You know that I’d die if that’s what it took for you to be happy, don’t you? He couldn’t keep the moan from passing his lips at feeling Kwangmin’s cool fingers against his heated skin. I like your methods of making me forget…
Junsu ran his fingers over Junho’s chest, drawing little hearts against his skin. He smiled when Junho’s hand caught his, his brother pressing kisses to his palm before he turned his head, opening his eyes. “Su, you shouldn’t do things like that,” he murmured, a lustful gleam in his eyes.
Smirking, Junsu rolled over, pinning his brother to the mattress. “Since they’re in the living room having fun, why don’t we have some fun of our own?” he replied, leaning down to capture Junho’s lips in a kiss.
A moment later, Junsu found himself on his back, Junho hovering over him as he gasped for air. He felt Junho’s tongue flick across his bottom lip and he willingly opened his mouth, feeling Junho plunge his tongue inside. Wrapping his legs around Junho’s waist, Junsu raked his nails down his twin’s back, eliciting a moan from him. He ground his abdomen against his brother’s, Junho raking his teeth across his bottom lip.
“I hope you’re going to take responsibility for this boner you just gave me,” Junho whispered, his voice sending shivers coursing through Junsu.
Junsu rolled his hips against his twin’s again, voice coming out as a quiet whimper. “Screw me, Junho.”
