What is one food that you refuse to try? Why?

chitterlings  aka  chitlins

The smell alone is enough to make me gag and want to vomit.
Plus the fact I *know* they are hog intestines.   ~ewww!~

Plus the explanation as documented on wikipedia.com

Having watched a documentary about how they make tofu, if I ever go to China I won't be eating any of the local varieties.

Also, thai fish sauce (the real stuff, not the imitation stuff). They get a barrel of fish and add salt and seasonings and stuff into it and then weigh it down with planks and bricks, and as it rots and liquifies they collect the juice that dribbles out the bottom of the barrel.

That is quite possibly the most disgusting thing I've ever heard of! The real question is why would ANYONE voluntarily eat them?

Scrapple. It's big in this part of the country, but that doesn't necessarily mean it taste good... unlike cheese stakes. Google it and you'll understand why I won't touch it with a 10 foot fork. Not quite as bad as chitlins (no shit), but it still comes from the other less desirable parts of the pig. Bon Appetit!

I know what it is .... unfortunately. It's quite common in NC. Never ate it and will continue to avoid. I don't like processed meats in general.
