Character Name: Riza Hawkeye [Codename: Elizabeth]
Character Age: Mid to late 20's, Headcanon 27
Canon + Format: Fullmetal Alchemist Manga/Brotherhood anime
Background:
Has link. Canon Point: Chapter 70 / Ep 27 Or just after she finds out about Selim/Pride
[Optional] Previous RP History: A sex game - nah, I'm not that cruel. Nada.
Personality: Riza is, in a word, a strict, stoic young woman who, at her core, hold many hurts, and traumas. What we see on the outside does not mean that she is like that on the inside, but, for the sake of her duties, self imposed or job realities, she wears a mask, and rarely relaxes. She has a kind, and caring soul underneath, as seen in the kind words and smiles given to those whom she trusts, when it's needed. She asks the best of herself, and those around her, often refusing to allow her Colonel to slack off, and in later chapters of the manga, actually notes that the furher doesn't slack off, or try and sneak out early, perhaps implying that she misses working under Roy. She has no issue with yelling at him, or pulling him back into line, often with a well placed barb of sharp humour. It's not personal, but her way of keeping him on track. It's unknown what she thinks of his 'womanizing ways', only that she has the reputation around the office of being his babysitter.
The two biggest influences on Riza that we are shown, are the array on her back, and the hell she went through in Ishval. The Flame array is her shame, her cross, her burden and her guilt. It it because of this that she has become a very private young woman, wearing clothes that fully hide it. It's her father's legacy. A man, who, in her own words, was very frightening, and obsessive in his research,. to the point of ignoring her. Though, he did make sure that she was properly educated, for the time period. Riza's mother died when she was young, and both her parents where estranged from their parents, so Riza really only had her father, and herself. It's unknown at what age the array was tattooed on, but she could have been rather young, and she understood that it was important to him. It's only after her father's death, and hearing the dreams of the young Roy Mustang, that she allowed it to be seen by him, and only him. She trusted her back to his dream, so, in a sense, she has a personal stake in Roy's dreams and when he shows the darker, uglier side of himself later on when chasing down Envy, Riza disobeys his orders to stand down; He, right at the start, gave her permission to shoot to kill if he ever strayed, and this, in her mind, was straying too far from the 'allowed' path.
However, the trauma of Ishval shook her to the core, and she saw her father's work in action, and possibly, for the first time, felt the dread in seeing the power it held. The shooting, snipping and killing did not help, but she made it through, though not unscathed, and in Ishval, she gained the moniker The Hawk's Eye, noted for sharp-shooting skills and accuracy with guns. After the war was over, she asked Roy to burn her back so that a new Flame Alchemist could never be created, and it's not a stretch to say that she'd have nightmares for a long time about what she saw. Added into the fact that it was her back he ultimately learned the alchemy off... she has blood on her hands, one way or the other. She doesn't like guns, but she will shoot if it necessary, or she is ordered to by the man she chooses to follow. She is his personal adjutant, and bodyguard, and if ever needed, his executioner should he ever stray from the path.
Riza has codependency issues with Roy Mustang, to the point where when Lust informs her that he's dead, she breaks down, refusing to run away when Alphonse tells her - afterwords, when Roy is scolding her, she acknowledges that her actions were wrong and disgraceful as a solider under his command. And later on, on being asked what she will do after shooting Roy, she tells him that she has no intention of living a happy life, and her body will follow his. This implied that if she's ever called on to actually shoot her Colonel due to him straying off the path, she will not be long after. It's unknown if there are any actual romantic feelings, but it's possible, for Riza tends to bury things that are not needed for her work. At the very least she keeps a very strong wall between personal and work related matters, though it is known that she does care for him; Roy is her life.
Riza's caring side is also shown in her treatment of the Elric brothers, though at times it can be a little harsh, she means the best for them. Along with this, she truly does care for her dog, Black Hayate, though her discipline methods leave something to be desired. [She potty trains him after shooting the wall around were he was peeing inside. Poor puppy.] Roy latter remarks on her naming habits.
Of note is the fact that Riza doesn't like the military, because sometimes she's forced to kill, however, there is someone she needs to protect who's also in it. Thus, she stays. Riza also sees guns as a tool, an object that, without hands pulling the trigger, do not cause deaths. A gun is good, she's said, as it doesn't leave the feeling of someone dying in your hands. She knows it's self deception, but she's willing to decive herself to continue her duty as a solder, and protect others.
It's likely that even after Roy reaches his goal, she'll stay by his side as both bodyguard and personal assistant. He's her life, and has been for very long time. In a word, he's more family than her father ever was, and Riza doesn't know that General Grumman is her grandfather, on her mother's side.

She's also keenly alert for the surroundings, and can tell that homunculi are more of a threat that normal humans [Prob due to combat experiences and such.] Riza can disassemble and reassemble a stand issue firearm in record time, and her sharp sight has earned her the nickname of The Hawk's Eye.

Character age- 26 -- She's younger than Roy.
Character history- OK, first the basics. Edward and Al did human transmutation to revive their dead mother. It back fired badly and Ed lost part of his left leg, then all of his right arm as another 'toll'. Al lost his body, but, with the toll of Edward's arm, his soul was able to be transfixed to a suit of armor. Edward got Automail after the visit from Roy, and together the brothers are searching for the philosophers stone to restore their bodies.
Little is known about Riza's past, other than at some point her mother died, leaving her with her father, a brilliant alchemist who perfected the art of flame alchemy. Around about the age of ten, Riza was thrown in to the digital world for two days, where she meet the Zurumon who was her partner. She promptly named him Hayate, but she was taken away before she got to know him all that well. She woke thinking it all a strange dream and never mentioned it to anyone. Sometime possibly in her early teen years her father started to tattoo the flame array onto her back. She willingly allowed this, as she knew how important it was to him. Sometime later Roy Mustang became her father's alchemy apprentice, learning the basics off him. Riza, though an alchemist's daughter, had neither the will nor the want to learn it. After all, this was the thing that took her father away from her, this was something that she carried on her back. She knows the basics though. How could she not, growing up in such a household.
Riza was about 17 or 18 when her father died and she only saw the end result - him dead and Roy shouting for help. After that, Roy took care of everything up to the funeral, told her that he'd probably be in the military for life, and spoke of his dream. It was then that Riza asked if she could trust her back to that dream and allowed Roy to learn the secrets off it.
She more than likely joined the academy after that, but eventually she was sent to the battlefield at Ishval because the field was understaffed, more than likely no older than 19-20 at best. There in Ishval she earned her moniker The Hawk's Eye and was faced with the harsh realities of the situation and saw the devastating affects of the flame alchemy. Here she also learned to bear the guilt of what she'd done, and accept responsibility for her actions; it was also here that she was confronted with this via Kimblee, who told her point blank that she must feel some sort of pride in her work, even if she denies it. That revelation shook her to the core. Because it is more than likely true.
After Ishval was over she asked Roy to burn and crush her back, which he did, but with great reluctance, and only enough as so not to hinder her lifestyle in anyway. Not long after that she was assigned to Roy's command and became his aid, and if ever needed his executioner. Sometime after that, she, along with Roy, paid a visit to the young Elrics after Roy had heard they were skilled alchemists. On finding out that the boys were only 11 and 10 from the officer escorting them there, Roy asked Riza what this was about, and she simply said that intel isn't what it used to be. Here she also meet Winry and decided to grow her hair. A year later she was there when Edward became the youngest state Alchemist, ever, and agreed with him that Roy should put more effort into looking like a loyal solider, as he did not display enough shock when Edward pointed a spear at the fuhrer.
After that, we see her again when Ed is 15 and having just defeated a criminal [Bald] on train who'd taken Major General Hakuro hostage. Riza greets Alphonse, but is shown in a very minor role here aside from telling the Colonel to stay back. Though he finishes things off with his flame alchemy and Bald resist no further as Roy went easy on him. After that she is seen again during the Shou Tucker arc after his murder at the hands of the one named Sacr. She's telling the boys they can not come with her. And then latter, when scar attack - but not before he managed to injured both brother rather badly; breaking almost half of Al's armour and shattering Edward's Automail arm.
She defends the Colonel by kicking him down [it's raining and he was attempting to be 'smart' and use his flame alchemy] and firing at Scar, noting that he's fast. This reveals that he's an Ishvalan, but Scar gets away by blowing an escape route into the sewers. Riza then goes to comfort the injured Edward and Alphonse. Later on after a bit of talk in Roy's office and Edward having no choice in visiting his mechanic, Riza says that it's rather hectic looking after the Colonel. As he might skip work. Riza is then seen briefly a bit later on when Major General Hakuro visits to find out news on Scar. Presumably a little later, she's shown saying that a washed up bloodied jacket is what Scar was wearing, Prompting Roy to assign Havoc and his unit 'clean up duty'.
Riza shows up briefly while Hughes was talking to Roy on the military phone lines and then sometime later, she shows up again at Hughes' funeral. Hughes was murdered by Envy after learning 'too much about what was going on' and Envy would later have Maria Ross framed for this. She asks if Roy's alright and then a short while later, brings Major Armstrong to speak with him. After they speak, which is very little as Armstrong's been ordered into silence by someone higher ranked than Roy, Riza is asked if she will still follow Roy. The answer is yeas. Sometime later, she, along with Second Lieutenant Jean Havoc, Second Lieutenant, Heymans Breda, Warrant Officer Vato Falman and Sergeant Major Kain Fuery are transferred along with Colonel Roy Mustang to Central. Soon after this on her first off day, she's walking home at night [In the anime, she has her dog, Black Hayate with her. She got him around chapter 12 in a bonus chapter included in vol. 4.] when Barry the Chopper, who'd previously escaped the fifth Laboratory that Edward and Al had snuck into a while back, attacks her. Unperturbed, she fires her gun and is hardly shocked to see that he had a body like Al's. Barry proclaims that he's in love and she calls Roy Mustang to let him know what she's captured.
From there, things steamroll into them finding out about the Fifth lab, Barry telling them about the homunculi, and Vato being assigned to guard him. Over the next ten days Edward returns, Riza and the Colonel lie to him about Hughes' death, Maria Ross is framed and taken into custody and Riza is tasked with gathering info on Maria. She escapes with aid of Barry and then is presumably burnt to death by a pissed off Roy. [Later on, it's revealed that Roy had Riza gather all that info so that he could fake Maria's death as he has a gut feeling that she wasn't the one.]
A few days later, it comes to a head when Barry's real body, now rotting with the soul of an animal attached, barges into Vato and Barry's hide out. Riza was assigned to be the lookout/sniper and while Jean, Vato and Barry were dealing with Barry's body, Riza was keeping Roy informed on the situation. However, not all goes to plan as Gluttony shows up and despite her best efforts, Riza is unable to stop him. Hayate and Fuery show up and even with their help things don't look good. However, Roy arrives in the nick of time to push Gluttony out of the window with a burst of Flame. Riza though glad scolds him, but there's little time to rest as Barry's body is getting away and Barry is chasing it, adamant that he wants to chop it up.
They arrive soon at the third Lab and follow in after Barry and soon enough they split up. Riza with Alphonse, Roy with Havoc and then they head off. It's not long after this that Riza woke up in the House, basically a brothel type thing. She did have a bit of a breakdown, but that's owing to her pull point and the lack of downtime between one event and another. Durning her first day, she ended up breaking down and crying herself out on Havoc, latter saying sorry for being so weak. However after the first few days, she was able to reasonably collect herself, mostly because by this time, Roy mustang had arrived. Though he was blind, and she's been unable to find out why. She has assumed that in the future, she fails somehow in protecting him. She started to alternate between one night in Roy's room, one night in Havoc's. She never slept with either until the start of the word trigger event, and then she slept with Roy. Her first time, ever.
After that things quietened down, with her making a few friends and generally keeping mostly to Roy and Havoc. However on the night of the full moon and returning from a shower, Riza was attacked by Remus Lupin in werewolf form. Due to the game mechanics She didn't become one, but she now sports several injuries. She spent a week in the hospital and soon after, while getting help with changing the bandages, Havoc came to know what was on her back. The Flame array.
She's pulled from sometime in the night, when she's fast asleep. She wakes up to find one hellva grumpy Gizamon staring at her. His first words? "Did you forget about me?".
Character personality- Riza is a strict, stoic young woman who at her core, holds many hurts and traumas, not only from her world, but also from her time in The House. What we see on the outside does not mean that's what's on the inside. But, for the sake of her duties, self imposed or not, she wears a mask, and rarely relaxes. She has a kind, and caring soul underneath, as seen in the kind words and smiles given to those whom she trusts. Her caring is shown most of through subtle gestures as she's not a fan of PDA's, on or off the job. She asks the best of herself and those around her, often refusing to allow her Colonel to slack off and in later chapters of the manga, actually notes that the fuhrer doesn't slack off or try and sneak out early, perhaps implying that she misses working under Roy. She has no issue with yelling at Roy Mustang, or pulling him back into line. This is often with a well placed barb of sharp humour. It's not personal, but her way of keeping him on track. It's unknown what she thinks of his 'womanizing ways', only that she has the reputation around the office of being his 'babysitter/talisman'.
The two biggest influences on Riza that we are shown are the array on her back and the hell she went through in Ishval. The Flame array is her shame, cross, burden and guilt. It is because of this that she has become a very private young woman, wearing clothes that fitted hide it. It's her father's legacy. When asked what she'd do after she shot him, Riza stated that she would not be long after him, explicitly implying that she'd kill herself.
Ishval shook her to the core. There is no denying that the events of the war stripped away whatever innocent nativity she had. Seeing her father's work in action for the first time would have shaken her even more. It was not the use he'd hoped for, and her by extension. The shooting, snipping and killing did not help, but she made it through, though not unscathed. It was in Ishval that she gained the moniker The Hawk's Eye, noted for sharp-shooting skills and accuracy with guns. After the war was over, she asked Roy to burn her back so that a new Flame Alchemist could never be created, and it's not a stretch to say that she'd have nightmares for a long time about what she saw, and have PTSD. Added into the fact that it was her back he ultimately learned the alchemy off... she has blood on her hands, one way or the other. She doesn't like guns, but will shoot if it's necessary, or ordered to by the man she chooses to follow; This does mean mean that she will disobey an order from a higher ranking officer, like the fuhrer; she just won't like it, at all. It's been said that Riza is a model solider of the military. She is Roy's personal adjutant, and bodyguard, and if ever needed, his executioner should he ever stray from the path he's chosen to go.
Riza has codependency issues with Roy Mustang, to the point where when Lust informs her that he's dead, she breaks down refusing to run away when Alphonse tells her - afterwords, when Roy is scolding her, she acknowledges that her actions were wrong and disgraceful as a solider under his command. [She potty trains him after shooting the wall around were he was peeing inside. Poor puppy.] Roy latter remarks on her naming habits.
Of note is the fact that Riza doesn't like the military because sometimes she's forced to kill. However there is someone she needs to protect who's also in it, so she stays. Riza sees guns as a tool, an object that without hands pulling the trigger, does not cause deaths. A gun is good, she's said, as it doesn't leave the feeling of someone dying in your hands. She knows it's self deception, but she's willing to deceive herself to continue her duty as a solder, and protect others.
It's likely that even after Roy reaches his goal, she'll stay by his side as both bodyguard and personal assistant. He's her life, and has been for a while. In a word, he's more family than her father ever was and Riza doesn't know that General Grumman is her grandfather, on her mother's side. Her morals are more than likely similar to that of the early 1900's, and it's unknown as to what level Riza actually cares for Roy Mustang, but it's more than likely as a very close friend / almost a brother.
Due to her time in the house, Riza has changed. She has become somewhat more withdrawn, more likely to wear her clothing as armour, hide her feelings and above all, she had started to accept that she has feelings for not only Roy, but Jean Havoc. The fact that she's had sex with Roy has only heightened that, but at the same time, made her headspace a rather messy place when she's not doing something, anything to keep her mind off what she's been though. Or the fact that she is no longer a virgin. The sex part only came around due to word triggers and though she doesn't blame Roy, she still feels deep down that it should have been inside marriage, regardless. The fact that she deep down, cared about Roy in that way has not and never will, factor into the uneasy acceptance of it. There's nothing that she can do to change it and she accepts that. The act itself hasn't left any negative feelings though, only positiveness as Roy did make it feel good. Riza hasn't done it since, though she has wanted to.
During her time in the house, Riza has never slept in the same bed twice in a row, excluding her stay in the hospital. The reasons for this is that she feels safe with Roy and Jean, safe enough to share there beds at night, and cuddle up to them. Jean Havoc eventually found out what was on her back, and Riza asked that he blame her for her choices that she made, rather than others.
Above all though, Riza has learn to hide her insecurities even more behind masks of faked happiness / calm, because that is one of her coping mechanisms, though by now it's cracking in places. Riza has several triggers as well due to time spent in this place.
Digimon personality- First off Gazimon is more or less Riza's 'sins' you could say, so his entire evolutionary line will be virus. As her partner, he's not the typical one either. He's not easy to get along with especially with those who aren't Riza or those Riza trusts with her life. Even then it's up in the air. Gazimon hates the name Riza gave him, but does answer to it as Riza gave it to him when she was was first in the Digital world. Gazimon hates Riza, thinks she's weak, useless and a waste of data. He only wants her for the chance that she will help him evolve, and everything he does that 'helps' her is actually helping him keep the human alive along enough so that he can reach Perfect level. Nothing more, nothing less and he resents the idea that he's been hoping that one day, she'd come back to the digital world.
In actual fact, he cares for her but has a very round about way of doing things, and this includes insulting her. He doesn't care, on the surface, but he does underneath. He simply loathes the fact that he had to wait so long and be so weak for so long. He wanted her to stay as a child, but she couldn't, and now that she's back, he really, really doesn't know what to do. Because he kinda got used to the idea that maybe his human died or it was a mistake or something of the like. He never once considered that she'd abandon him, ever.
Aside from be antagonistic towards her and rebuking her whenever he can, he'll make her life hard, by making her take the long route from A to B. However, if she's in danger he'll defend her with all his might. His human, piss off and get your own is basically his motto and he believes it all the way to his digi-core.
When it comes to fighting, he has a no holds bared motto and will go down fighting, even if means reverting to the Tama stage again, and having to do the evolving thing all over again. As long as it's with Riza, he doesn't care. As he evolves, he'll get less antagonistic to a degree and as time goes on he'll slowly come to see that it wasn't Riza's fault that she couldn't return to digital world, it was that she simply wasn't ready.
He's gonna resent the waiting period though. He always will.
