In the year 1635, a group of Wicomsee Native Americans travelled to Captain William Claiborne's trading post in Maryland. Members of the Susquehannock tribe, who were enemies of the Wicomsees, were also at this location. The Susquehannocks ridiculed the Wicomsees, and Claiborne's men found this amusing.
