And this, Draco, is why you don't make friends. People. Always. Leave.

I do believe I've suddenly become less of an Englishman this way, but coffee has become a bit of a vice. Far more bitter than most tea, but the effects are far greater. ...a year and a half later, and I'm talking about beverages. Honestly.New Feathers? Good luck surviving here ( Read more... )

It's a bitter beverage that causes you to do some incredibly stupid things sometimes.

[This would be the Welshman that Jack's referring to.]

Coffee is never a vice.

It can be if the negative effects start outweighing the positive ones. Example, it never tastes even half-way decent without sugar and cream.

Nonsense. If that's the case, you just haven't had good coffee. Perhaps the blend is too heavy, or it's let steep too long. Properly-made coffee should always be palatable. Cream and sugar should only be accents, like adding a bit of pepper to your dinner.

Until I find someone who makes a decent cup, I'll stand by my bias and switch between coffee and tea. Besides, it's not as though the Malnosso would actually give us decent beverages here.

You've resorted to coffee?

Ah, the thing I've feared most here has finally come to a head. Thank you for clarifying. Where's the door for the way out?

Afraid it's a one way trip.

I was hoping that would change once I paid my dues here. I suppose not.

What about iced tea?

[voice] hisdarkmark March 13 2011, 06:36:52 UTC
It cheapens the taste, wouldn't you say?

You think? I like it more usually... it's sweeter.

Tea can't be too sweet, otherwise it's hardly tea at all. But I suppose it's different depending on the country, isn't it, Charlotte?
