I'd say it all depends on why each is important. Honor only means something if you value it. Moving on can be another phrase for running away. Reconciling? Depends if it's needed.

It's situational. If something needs to happen to, even temporarily, bridge connections to get the job done? You do it. Otherwise there's no point in forcing something. That gets you shoved out of the ship and stranded on the ice planet.
