So happy valentines day everyone!!! And I just want to say that today is NOT singles awareness day! I have heard that a few times this week, and I was thinking about it today, it kind of upsets me. lol, your entry made me laugh. I can try to explain why I used to feel lonely on valentines day. I don't this valentines day because...well, haha I don't know why not, God has just really blessed me but also Binh's death is still so new that it's not too much fun to celebrate holidays. Anyway I got lots of valentines so I feel special!! Okay, in response...when was the last valentines day that you didn't have a boyfriend? It is really hard because while we should look at this day as a day to celebrate love to all...it's looked on as a couple's holiday. This holiday is geared towards couples, not singles. If you haven't been single on valentines day after you were about 16ish then it probably wouldn't make since but the older you get the harder it gets. It wasn't that I didn't realize how much God loved me, or how much my family and friends loved me but it was that I felt the absence of the love shared with a man (or I guess back then it woulda been a boy, huh?). Imagine if you didn't have Jason on this day, you knew what it felt ( ... )

I can see where you are coming from. And I agree that it's hard for singles, but what frustrates me is when people try to change a cute holiday into a depressing one. Even if people are sad that they don't have a boyfriend, they can still at least try to enjoy it. I guess that's what I was trying to say.

ooooh I agree then, it IS a cute holiday and they should try to enjoy it and if they don't then they can keep quiet and let everybody else (like you and me) enjoy it :).
