Anastasia

Today, it's our first attempt at sporking an animated movie, Don Blyth's and Gary Goldman's Anastasia. Brace yourself...

( Ra - Ra - Rasputin... )

Okay, we need to make up for the trauma we suffered here, so the next one will definitely be fun to spork: it will be Randall Wallace's Man in the Iron Mask!

Brr... *shudders*

I saw that movie once, years ago, and that was enough. You improved it greatly!

I'm looking forward to "The Man in the Iron Mask".

Thank you!

For two of us, it was the first time to watch it. And the last time. Definitely!

We're very much looking forward to doing Man in the Iron Mask! At least, that one's funny!

*GG*

We found the link to Boney M just by chance, before we started watching the movie, and had the damn song stuck in our heads, like, forever.

*secretly shove Boney M CD under bed*

Thank you, dear!

fourth_rose: You know, if they wanted to produce a fairy tale movie anyway, why did they have to molest history to do so?

cutecoati: I wonder if there will be complaints that we're nagging at something that's "just a fantasy movie"...

cloudlessnights: Well, it happened with "Sound of Music". "Braveheart" too, if I remember correctly.

fourth_rose: The problem is that many people will religiously believe anything history-related they've seen in a movie, fantasy or not. Dan Brown, anyone?
Every time I run across this I marvel that the studio thought the brutal murder of a family would somehow make a good "children's" movie "clutches head". Of course, then as you pointed out they removed all traces of the actual events and replaced them with the penniless orphan vs. Voldemort "heads desk".
Great way to start a weekend and good job as always.

Thank you! We're glad you liked it!

This is probably the greatest mystery about that movie, anyway! If they had made a movie out of the Anne Anderson story (or one of the other fake Anastasias), turning-orphan-into-princess style, but to stick with showing the slaughtering of the family, and yet NOT being able to show it because it has to be omg!kiddie-compatible? Just plain idiocy, somehow.
