Anastasia

Today, it's our first attempt at sporking an animated movie, Don Blyth's and Gary Goldman's Anastasia. Brace yourself...

( Ra - Ra - Rasputin... )

Okay, we need to make up for the trauma we suffered here, so the next one will definitely be fun to spork: it will be Randall Wallace's Man in the Iron Mask!

Snort! Though I tiptoed out about ten (painful) minutes in when my young daughter rented that bomb, and thus never saw the rest, your spork still made great reading.

Thank you! The problem is, the movie's not even a cute kids' movie (at least in our opinion, the Rasputin scenes are pretty ghastly - but perhaps kids are a lot tougher ;D)

No, it seems to be a mess--I wonder if they commissioned the songs and ended up just hooking them together. (Not that the songs are great, either.) At any rate, my daughter was somewhat doubtful about it, and never asked to rent it again.

Ooooh! More sporking! And this one was fun. In a painful, *headdesk*, *facepalm* kind of way. *g* But I have to admit I'm looking forward to the next one more.

Thank you!

The whole movie made us go "what?!" every other second... it's just, yes, as you said: *headdesk*

We're very much looking forward to doing Man in the Iron Mask - at least, that one should be fun to watch!

I've been waiting for you to spork this turkey since you formed this journal! Thank you! :smooches sporkers:

I'm totally with you on the "why do people speak English with a foreign accent when they're supposed to be speaking their native language?" thing.

And:

Rasputin: Muahahaha! Do svidaniya, your Highness!

I'm going to choose to interpret this as "See you in hell." 8-)

"why do people speak English with a foreign accent when they're supposed to be speaking their native language?" - here, here. They should at least be consistant. I mean, they've got Meg Ryan speaking in her normal american accent with Christopher Lloyd doing a (bad) stereotypical Russian accent. I minored in Russian in college and I've never met a native Russian speaker who sounded like that. *sigh*

Fake accents are teh ebil! Almost no-one ever gets them right (there's also a lot of horrible fake English and American accents in German TV/cinema ;D)!

*icon love*

Now, I've seen some movies that take place in foriegn countries where class difference is shown by the difference in the English accent - I once saw a version of Don Quixote where he was speaking proper British and Sancho was speaking... well, it may have been Cockney, but I'm not British so I'm not sure ; )

hee thanks - your icon rocks more, though - I only commented with the Departed Soul one 'cause you guys had already referenced it ; )

Omg, this was so funny!!! What an awful movie!!! Even when I first sat down to watch it without all the knowledge of Russia I thought it was one of the most ridiculous things I'd ever seen. Btw, loved loved LOVED the Harry Potter references!!

Awwwww, no more animated movies?! I wanted you guys to spork Quest for Camelot!!! Can't you spork that just a little and then never do any animated movies again? Please?

*cough* So Man in the Iron Mask is next? I've never watched it. It came out like a year after Titanic and by that time I was sick of Leonardo DiCaprio. But this should be very interesting. I can't wait!!

Thank you so much!

Hehe, the HP references were simply unavoidable! We squeed with delight every other minute! ;D

At least, we need a break from animated movies... we'll see. Actually, we're quite looking forward to doing Man in the Iron Mask - at least, there's a good deal of tongue-in-cheek in it, enough to make it enjoyable.

I saw this movie when it first came out and vaguely remember thinking Dmitri was kinda hot for an animated dude, but the rest of the movie sent me into apoplectic fits to rival the ones I had over Disney's Hercules. Gah, what a total waste of good film.

Brilliant sporking as usual, dahlings!

Thank you, dear! *snuggle*

Yep, it's just a bad movie! Neither of us has seen Hercules, but since it's based on the premise that he's Zeus' and Hera's son...
