Welcome!

Welcome to the first Historical RPF Big Bang. Until now, from what I've noticed, history was included in the smaller fandom big bangs, but it never really stood on its own, and whilst it might be only a small fandom, it is a fandom of epic proportions. Think about it. You can write about any historical era and any those who belong to it. From ( Read more... )

A somewhat odd question, but here goes! lareinenoire March 4 2010, 00:32:50 UTC
So, first of all, I am full of incoherent squee that this community exists. :)

Secondly, I was curious about whether alternate histories were permissible? I have two potential projects and one of them is an AU stemming from the Battle of Bosworth going the opposite way.

I am full of squee that more people are finding out about it :D:D Big Bang challenges need history. Fact.

And yes, definitely. As long as there's historical characters/settings, it's all game.
Thanks so much for joining :D
(and it would be really interesting to read about the Battle of Bosworth going differently \o/)

YAY! I've had this plotbunny kicking round my head for at least three years now if not closer to four, and this sounds like just the thing I need to kickstart myself. :)

*raises hand* I has a question. maelicia March 4 2010, 22:42:56 UTC
Deadlines being the most important part of all rules... I'm not quite sure I understand this order of deadlines:

Author rough drafts are due on the 25th of May.

Artists claim their desired fics after checking out their summaries on the 1st of June.

Artist rough drafts are due on the 15th of July

31st of July: Posting begins.

Where are the rough drafts submitted if the posting begins on July 31? What is the role of the artists claim in this? Are fics being chosen to be posted, and thus some will not be...?

The rough drafts are needed so that the artists who claim the fics (the artists choose a fic when I will make a post with brief summaries of each) have time to read through the work and get an idea about what artistic content they will create for said work. This is why there should be a draft, so that they know what they should do. You can keep on working and editing and adding parts to your story until they're meant to be posted, just as long as the artist can get the gist of it starting in June. The rough drafts are sent to me and they aren't posted, the only other people who will see yours, for example, is the artist who chooses to do art for you. There's no selection, each completed fic will be posted!

YAY! A HISTORICAL BIG BANG!

Ahem. Yes.

Is this going to be happening in 2011 as well? Because I will be very unhappy if it isn't. And weep tears of bitter salt. And die.
