I'm slowly working my way through the books in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. (Why? Because I'm a bookworm. And a SW geek.) Most of these books I've never read before, or maybe read once in the year or so after TPM came out.

From Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, this might be the funniest passage in the entirety of the EU:

What I also love is the implication - however unintended - that Obi-Wan has examined Anakin's butt before, just not upside down and/or at that close a range.

Inorite?? It's from fairly early on, when Anakin is carrying the unconscious Obi-Wan (who then wakes up, obviously), so... it's not as fanfic-like as it could be, as far as circumstances go. But still.

The author is Matthew Stover, whom I haven't read before.

Wouldn't the SW:EU amount to hundreds and hundreds of books? Like Star Trek novels, only much, much worse?

No, there's 40-something books in the SW:EU, plus young adult books (which I'm not reading). I'm talking novels only, not short stories, YA, comics, journals, or anything else.
