I don't think anyone has ever stolen anything of mine but if it happened I would like to know it. sometimes I do think things are coincidence though, once I was accused of copying someone whose artwork I had never really seen before and I don't think either of us was copying the other, it just happened to be similiar. I have really only seen this on livejournal a few times though but it really bothers me, I don't see how people think they aren't going to get caught.

That's true about similar artwork. That's bound to happen. Although it really sucks when someone is using the actual work of someone else's, like just copying and pasting. That's so bold and strange!

i used to have this girl that copied almost every single word of my journal entries into her own. finally someone told me what was happening and i was really grateful, that is why now my journal is friends only. it's really frustrating when that happens, i like to know but at the same time i hate knowing. i don't have anything worth copying and it's just almost gross feeling when you find out someone is doing it.
i'd be sure to tell you if i saw someone copying your journal though, same goes for everyone on my friends list.

I don't know if I could recognize similarities very well. Once I had an internet impersonator and someone still makes private entries in my journal (so they have my password) but I guess I don't feel that violated by it? Or flattered? Indifferent? I hate the internet. I'm always worried I subconciously emulate work I've been viewing and incorporate it into my own. If people ever feel like I'm doing that to them I'd like them to tell me, it's a big problem with the internet now I think.
