I've been reading speeches by Bill Clinton lately, and I've been watching him attack other candidates. Today, CNN has an article covering one such appearance where Bill is attacking Obama on a number of fronts.

This sends a singular message to me. Hillary's chosen to run a negative campaign, but refuses to say anything directly negative to her

I agree with you that it seems Hillary has send Bill out to speak some of the things she herself won't say. However, your mention of the other canidates wives brings up a good point (and yes, their wives do have their own rallies). If a woman says something negative about someone she is seen as a bitch and as being emotional. If a man says something negative, well, that's to be expected. I think Hillary's real (and valid) fear is that if she starts negative compaigning it will take away all her "feminitity", as little as it might be
