Wow, man, I'm pretty proud of you, and of your less blog-prolific partner in crime which I will hopefully give the ninth degree to tonight in Midtown. The whole point of doing the MS150 in April is that there is a seasonal tailwind all the way to Austin. So I definitely take my helmet off to you. Other than the headwind, though, it sounds identical to my first MS150. I had similar impressions (except I wanted to pull over and punch that Tartan at the top of the first major hill out of La Grange). It's great that you went through the park, which used to be the only route, until they introduced the bypass route as an easier alternative (it's not that much easier: not as steep, but very long, sustained climbs). And I had the same determination not to get off the bike during the climbs (and then finding myself sprawled on the side of the road for about 10 minutes, rehashing my decision to do this ride). It gets easier and funner (yeah, funner) every year. Anyhow, it's a major milestone, and you can count on them donations coming from me

Seriously though, in the words of René: "Good job, Matt." (it's a lot cuter coming from a two-year old child).
