Well, it's not crap actually. I've had the pleasure of working with such a team. We had a project that never went beyond protoyping stage for several months, but once three of us people got together, it got done to completion within a month! It remains the most enjoyable project of my work life ever.

Takes a believer. Reading a para like that one and realizing that inspiration/motivation should happen don't cut it. That's where most managers get it wrong.

Leadership is like love. Making yourself look like you love someone is not loving someone and the difference can learly be seen in the outcome. Realizing that you need to give an inspiring talk is simply not the same as someone believing in what is being said from deep down below and pouring your heart out.
