Exsanguination
“Why do you do this?” The voice swims, as his vision clears; nothing’s irreversible.
“It won’t do any good,” that golden head, that serpent’s tongue -- eyes like holy water, pitying him from above; he is the unwanted child of the gods. “It won’t change anything.”
“It pains me, to see you like this,” and certainly it must, the failure of one’s own creation. But Richard, blade against the veins, again and again and again without respite or result -- he doesn’t really care.
“But I do not regret it. Can you understand that?”
Eyes capture his own; his heart stutters: “I will never regret it.”
But Richard will. Forever.
