Justice in Gaza

I was walking back to my dorm when I passed by a gathering in front of Sproul Hall. It was for Gaza. They were reading the names of children who died in the strip. I was handed a candle and I stood there, listening, wondering, when is the list gonna end? Is there more ( Read more... )

Gaza Gaza. I don't really get it why they have to continue bombing. A lot of people are suffering.

And yes, sometimes we complain about simple things... we forget that there are a lot of worldly issues that needs to be addressed. It's time to think of simple acts that can create significant changes.

I can be so easily bogged down by the mundane things in life that I fail to recognize that there are bigger things out there

Same here.. Even yung sa local area lang like when I see people sleeping on the sidewalk.. mga batang nagpupulot ng basura.. narerealize kong may mas malaki pang problema ang mundo kesa sa problema ko..

I send prayers to the people in Gaza, not just those who died but everyone else who is suffering/suffered/witnessed that trauma.

In my school we did a Peace Protest on that at the city. Our arab friend wanted to do something similar to the one you saw but several people disagreed and opt for a peace protest instead. I think that showing Palestine as the victim is slightly unfair because they obviously don't want peace either. They would kill as much Israelis if they had the chance.

My point I guess is maybe we should protest on the war as a whole, not just against Israel. Though in this particular case it is their fault.

You're right. We should protest the war itself. But it really bothers me that the US condones this thing, and that it's even sending one side resources to bomb the other. It's sickening.

It's always good to have wake-up calls like this from time to time.
This is what I like about being in uni, there's always something going on, which makes me realize there is so much more going on in the world than my life.

And this is totally off-topic, but woo! for dorm XD
You're at Berkley now, eh? :D

Yeah, I'm in Berkeley. I don't know. It's all sorts of amazing, but also all sorts of overwhelming.
