I still can't believe this show only gets 12 episodes per season. I can't believe it hasn't officially been renewed yet. If it doesn't get renewed, I'll know how all those Legend of the Seeker fans felt earlier this year...
Anyway, here's some of the scribble I got down while watching the finale tonight:
1) Wow, that's a lot of flapping around, Myka. (I'm not sure if this is because I came to pay attention to the show as late as I did, but Myka seemed really out of character this episode, particularly during the beginning when she and Pete are still in Warehouse 2. She just never struck me as someone who would be really affected by emotion except in partnership with Pete, when they crack jokes and have one-twos with each other. So the way she was so... I don't know, excitable, especially in the aftermath of such a betrayal, felt off to me.)
2) Hahahaha Pete.
3) Despite what I said in 1), it's really the acting that makes this show what it is. ♥
4) Man, Jaime Murray is hot.
5) WTF.
6) LOLOL CGI CHOPPER.
7) That's a nice jacket, Myka.
8) Wow, that pic of Lizzie Borden is FREAKY. (I thought Claudia was going to say Thin Lizzy for a moment there, haha.)
8a) Random Pete/Kelly subplot is random.
9) What? Really, H.G.? Destroying the world because it wasn't sparkly after 150 years? Really? You realise that you wrote The Time Machine, right, because I read that when I was 11 and it gave me nightmares. I do not approve.
10) Fuuuuckkkk Jaime Murray is hot.
11) What is this, Criminal Minds?
12) Awww their love is so epic.
13) ZOMG THE NATIONAL! Instrumental(ish) version of "Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks"! ♥ ♥
The more I think about it, the more I get annoyed at the sub-underlying (yeah, it was below the beneath...) arc about MacPherson and H.G. Wells. So -- MacPherson debronzed H.G. so that she could get the pieces of the trident for him, so that he could destroy the world. Okay. But then H.G. killed MacPherson because he was going to spill, and she -- she what? What did she want? I DON'T GET IT. IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.
Is this what it's like, loving a show this much? Because I actually don't care if it doesn't make sense. I just want H.G. back. (Obviously Myka is going to come back, somehow, sometime, because it's, well, Myka. She didn't run from Denver so she wouldn't run from this?? IDK. Investing too much time, Chloe, too much time.)
OH, AND MY SEASON 1 DVDS ARRIVED TODAY.
Only took five days! Cheers, USPS, you're speedy.
Edited to add: So I know I've only watched about 8 episodes total, but what if the show's writers are doing a Doctor Who? Not in a time travel TARDIS sort of way to reverse everything that happened in the last season, but in a "Trust them, they have a sekrit plan which will be revealed in due time" way. Do they have a plan? Jane Espenson worked on BSG... surely there must be something.
I feel a bit deflated after ruminating a little more over what just aired.
