Long Overdue Post #1-Awesome Fangirls Made of Awesome

Oct 29, 2010 12:18

I have a couple of things to share, and I wanted to post them several weeks ago but couldn't quite get my shit together to do so. Organizing photos is hard, yo. So, couple of posts coming from me today.

The first one, which warrants its own post, concerns two of the most awesome fangirls ever to roam the Earth, baylorsr and liptonrm. This is not the first time I ( Read more... )

Awesome :)

And YAY to finding ways to organize better and finding more room for Munchy P.

(I just bought plane tickets. I will be in Chicago, minus various road trips around the midwest, Dec 21-Jan 5th. In case you need any more organizing help)

It's it amazing? SUCH a relief!

Excellent! I will be in Chicago all of those days! My mother leaves on the 22nd, and there will be family stuff, but I'm sure we can find a day that works. You may or may not be subjected to whatever organizing/painting/other project is underway, or you may just get to hang out and/or walk around with me. Time will tell. It will be so good to see you again!

I can imagine. And I bet it's very amazing.

I love love painting, so I would be happy to be called into service. But I would also be very happy to enjoy your company in whatever capacity I can have it. (although, man, I gotta figure out when I can fly back to actually meet Munchy P)

I expect I'll probably have to go to Wisconsin on Christmas Day and I think I'm going to be in Indiana New Years weekend, but otherwise I'm hoping for low-key and unscheduled. (though, honestly, I really need to copy your closet-clean and start getting rid of all the crap I have at my parents' house)

We shall chat more in, um, probably December :)

Now I have closet envy.

The only thing that might be cool if you still have extra clothes, maybe you could use those space bags. They work pretty well as long as you don't over stuff them.

Hope we get to see nursery pics too!

The change in quality of life is remarkable! I just feel like we're both getting so much more use out of what we have now that we can get at it easily. And it's much easier now to let go of other kinds of things we don't use (unread tomes on overloaded bookshelves, I'm looking at you).

You know, I do have a couple of those space bags, but we didn't put them into service this time around. I feel certain we will.

Nursery pics are going to be tricky. I think we'll paint in December and empty out most of the current furniture in January, but if we decide to invite my mother to come stay with us for the week around the birth, we will need to leave the day bed in there, so it won't really look like a nursery until Aprilish. But I will post pics of progress as it happens.

:0)

Pshaw. No apologizing for flist MIA-ness in this journal, where I almost never post and spend my time lurking my own flist.

I tell you what, I think baylorsr and liptonrm could make some serious bank traveling the world and organizing fangirls' closets. They bring the exact right combo of OCD/neat freak (baylorsr and laid-back logistics liptonrm plus a huge dose of just being fun to hang around with, which makes nearly any task fun.

*hugs* YOU are also on the awesome list!

You're right--it's totally liberating! Even Marc said so, after he got over the shock of the six garbage bags (which he wouldn't open because he was afraid he'd just start pulling things back; instead, he looked through his "new" closet, didn't see three shirts he wanted, described them to me, and had me pull them back).

Added benefit? We're much more motivated to put clothes away immediately, rather than letting them languish on top of the dresser.

Weird, isn't it?? To see everything all folded. Almost unnatural in its beauty.

Surely they could make millions organizing all the closets on LJ!
