Goodbye, ACRONYM.org (and also, goodbye full-time employment)

Feb 18, 2011 10:58

Today is my last day of full-time employment for what we expect to be a couple of years, if not more. It is very, very weird on many different levels ( Read more... )

*hugs super duper tight*

Also, cheer up emo chick :P

In all seriously, I can totally understand that feeling weird, but it's also awesome to be able to leave on a relatively good note. And you're heading for a pretty awesome adventure and a new kind of job and I'm so very excited for you and to see pictures of Munchy P that aren't grainy black and white ultrasounds. And also sometime to meet the little fellow.

*sends you lots of luck and hugs and good wishes for the time of his arrival*
[and now I'm remembering that dream I had a few months back, that I think I told you about, where Munchy P arrived and I was stealthily trying to leave random food presents and such around your condo without you or Marc noticing]

I go in and out of my emo--I think it's my duty as a very pregnant person. Feeling better about the job-related stuff, though.

*hugs back, clingily*

Yes, that dream! It was the same week I dreamed that he arrived and we had NOTHING for him in the house--no food, no clothing, no diapers--and he just huddled naked and tiny behind a door. I prefer your version!

Eleven years ago, I did what you are now doing- entering motherhood! Plenty to be emo about and wow, to give up working for me was scary but exciting.

I wasn't sure I'd like staying at home but here I am 11 years later still at home. (Not that it is for everyone.) I have a six year old in kindergarten and a 11 year old in middle school and I love being able to volunteer in the classroom and go on field trips. I would have never have pictured myself here but - it worked out that way.

So good luck on your new start in life- it will be wonderful - at times overwhelming- be definitely worth the ride! :)

Great to hear how much you enjoy being a SAHM. I'm hoping to do some volunteering in whatever classes/school he ends up in, and maybe some part-time library work if I ever finish my degree (new target: December 2011).

Thanks for the good wishes and luck!

Awwwee! You make me a bit emo too - I'm smiling for you - a wee baby soon to be smiling, and wriggling, and snoozing, (mostly snoozing)!

Make me remember my days of early motherhood - I was scared sh.., umm, quite a bit! But somewhere in their chaotic rooms are two strapping lads towering over me and eating me out of house and home.

Thinking of you, and can I suggest using the great idea of a front door sign to warn all of sleeping (finally) baby/mother within, and please visit a bit later. Anyone who is a parent or a good friend respects your need for rest, when you can get it!

Thinking of you, and very excited. ;))))

Thanks! it's all so topsy-turvy these days--pretty overwhelming. I'm sure that's only going to increase.

Door sign is an excellent idea! Thanks for that!

*hugs*

Funny, that's the noise of pure terror I feel like making half the time! We're psyched, too, when we're not paralyzed with fear :-)

hey love.

i'm sorry you're feeling emo. i know it's weird that munchy could come at any time. but i promise you, you'll be psyched to see him. you guys are in my thoughts and prayers and i love you like whoa.

MWAH. sorry, don't know much about cameras but tk got one for his bday last year that's a polaroid digital camera and it takes really good pics. but maybe you're looking for something fancier. if you're interested, this is it.

I seem to be getting over my work emo pretty quickly :-) Amazing how cleaning out the desk and realizing I never have to work with certain people again helps!

The baby arrival stuff is still freaksome, but today I'm feeling more prepared for it. Probably won't last, but I'm enjoying the phase while I'm in it.

Thanks for the camera rec. I have one similar to this, and I take really crap pictures with it. Hoping to find something a little fancier that might help. Of course, it could just be that both of us are terrible photographers, and there's no hope.

Huge hugs and love to you!
