So on Friday I went for the first time in, like, years and years to see stand-up comedy. And hey, you know, it was actually funny. So, cool. And then afterwards? The club was having some crazy promotion where you could "Party With Porn Stars". And yes, there they were...two women who were very clearly in the adult film industry. They actually got out on the floor and danced with the schlubs, despite the fact that security had to come over and remind the drunk guys that there was No Touching Allowed. Really all in all it was fairly anti-climactic. And the music suuuuuucked. But there was this one drunk/high/otherwise mentally impaired guy who was a one-man dance show, and he rocked. Then we left and went over to this other sketchy club (it was free, see), and right when we got there, the cops were arresting someone. Yep. I stayed for about 15 minutes. Not even the guy in the Santa hat or the drunk girls who fell over on each other in a dogpile on the dance floor could convince me to stay. Because the music? Suuuuuuucked. I went home and had my OWN dance party, goddammit.

Oh, last week I gave a talk to The General Public on our research, and it went well. Considering I put the PowerPoint presentation together that day and didn't even get a chance to practice it. I'm getting good at that.
